For those that have went to third world countries to train "locals". What methods are available to wash cooking utensils in a environment where water is limited especially hot water? Thanks.

Wear a leather glove. Grab a handful of sand, sand and small gravel, dirt
is a last choice (dirt meaning loam and clay).
Scour the inside of the pots and pans. If you are using sand
you will clean and polish. Then wash out with a cold water rinse.
Finish with a boiling water rinse.

As a certified food safety manager (https://www.servsafe.com/manager/food-safety-training-and-certification) I'd watch to see how the products are prepared first... you may not have to worry about washing as the food preperation process may scare the crap out of you.......

That said I'd be concerned with the plates and eating utensils first, then cutting boards, and then cooking utensils. Pots and pans last, (cause they heat up and 99.9995 of everything bad will die anyway if it brought up to the proper temps.)

Washing only takes away the food particles then you need to sanitize the cutting boards, cooking utensils, plates and forks, knives etc. The only thing that beats a boiling water is chemicals, ie bleach.

And none of the above matters if the "cooks" or food handlers are not washing their hands after using the restroom or are sick, etc etc etc.

Welcome to the 3rd world.

Do we still have autoclaves for the teams?

Concur with Team Sergeant, bleach can be your new best friend. Take the time to secure your/team's own food if possible. Safety and hygeine are usually way down the list of priorities in most third worlders minds/to do list.
