Mine just went out...

As a veteran and an avid skydiver and military free fall jumpmaster and customer I can tell you after reading about how you treated*Eddie Bryant I can guarantee you you will not get another dollar from me.

Since when did his freedom of Speach get revoked. *For years we have been called infidels and many other worse things by our foreign counterparts and their citizens as we fight for them and our country and you have the nerve to ask an American citizen in the United States to leave your buisness to quel a complaint of some foreign customers. *What he had on his leg is what the Koran says he is and if he was in Qatar or any other Muslim they would be referring to him as that. To them when they call you that it is an insult and they seam to not have a problem insulting us over there.*

Americans have been shedding their blood for our country and OUR constitution to not have people tread on our Freedoms and you just say screw them in favor for a few foreign dollars for a few days of training. *A Real American would have explained to whoever complained that that persons freedom of speech is protected and upheld by many Supreme Court decisions and you can not infringe upon his rights. *I hate people that spew hate speech but I have to not infringe upon them as an LEO so why would you make this decision to tread on an Americans rights. *I am so disappointed. **

I hope all True Americans read about this and stay away from your facility.*

Something doesn't smell right with Mr Bryant's charity "PTSD survivors of America" and "who" (the charity or him) is the benefiting party of the donations. This could be a one-sided, very slanted, publicity stunt to gain sympathy and more cash. I'm not convinced and need to hear the other side of this story.

There is always two sides of a story. I am sure that they want to mitigate any loss of revenue and I am sure the young man depicted a story to support his perspective. When the General brought up the issue they should have said thanks and move on.

Can one of our 3/3 QP brothers confirm the translation to make sure it says Infidel.:munchin

There is also a discussion on the facebook page about a member of the group from Quatar wearing a shirt that said something about NYC - Not Enough. Seems the Muslims always insist on having their way at the expense of everyone else. I think that group from Quatar was asked to leave a different DZ in Florida.

Concur.

I don't think the story tracks, but I would like to hear more about it before sending any money or hate mail.

“There is always 3 sides to every story. Your side, their side and the TRUTH.”

We have Bryants side.

I just called Betty at Skydive Lake Wales and got her side.

Somewhere in there is the truth.

(My comments inside people quotes are in Parenthesis)

I started reading this guys blog and then over to his 503C website and the hairs on the back of my neck started to raise up. There are some things that don't add up with this guy.

I Then called Betty at SDLW and asked her to tell her side of the story and much of it is exactly they way it was put by Bryant EXCEPT for 2 details.

From Bryant -- “The Muslim’s from Qatar saw that tattoo and complained to the drop-zone. Once they did so I was called to the back office and asked to cover it up by the owner.”

Bryant adds that he was offered duct tape to cover it and that he refused, saying it was nothing more than a tattoo saying “I am not a Muslim.” After a short time, he was asked to leave.

The long walk to his car being a “walk of shame” as he described it the email exchange.

Her story is that he asked a staff member the day prior if his tattoo would offend anyone if he wore shorts on the second day of jumping and was told that it might. He showed up the next day with shorts on.

No one jumped the second day for wx (not that that matters whether the jump occurred or not).

The Qatar General said it was offensive and she asked him to the office.

Betty said that she asked if he would cover the tattoo with some tape or duct tape. as "there is plenty of duct tape around for jumping and such" and that he was not asked to leave but that he just said he was going to leave and go jump near Tampa (assumed Z-Hills)

The exchange lasted about a minute and a half and she didn't think anything of it. (I asked if Bryant tried to make any arrangements to jump on other sticks or protest his 1st Amendment rights or anything she said no, he just left)

I hope I didn't over step my bounds but I asked her to come over to PS.com, get in touch with TS, and tell her side of the story. We'll see where that goes.

As for Eddie Bryant... I think we should take a closer look.

Edit **** From Eddies website **** "Donations to this site will help ensure my ability to write the book, continue my adventures, help spread awareness and overall assist me in finding the happiness and sanity that I had before the war."

Regardless of any charities or whether or not this guy is a douche bag, the issue here is pandering to Muslims. Regardless of what the guy has tattooed on his body, is it within the rights of anyone to ask him to cover it up? Especially foreighn Muslims in America. JMO, but I feel THEY should be sensitive to OUR feelings. That general from Quatar and the manager of the drop zone are wrong. As for the tattoo, if it is indeed Kafir, then so what. That is THIER word for us. I wish I had a penny for every time I saw a Muslim do something that offended me.

Revenue from training a group of soldiers vs what this guy was gonna be paying - might be as much a "pandering" to the $$$ (profit margin) issue for the drop zone facility as some perceived cultural slight.

Some sort of "We're under contract to train these guys and while they're here we ask that you..." scenario.

I would bet that they will be losing some money now. It may take a while, but that action will cost them (if it has not already).

I understand the money aspect and the contract.
It was still the wrong thing to do in this Country....kafir is not an obscene term.
We, in the US and the military, just like to be accomodating to the point of being stupid and allowing ourselves to be made fools of.
This is a little example but one non the less...."we are offended by our arabic term for non muslims...we are offended because he is proud not to be a muslim ...make him go away".
Like the Christian Chaplains removing their Cross insignia from their uniforms In Saudi...just a little thing, defering to Islam.
The religion of peace as long as we get our way.
