XXXX XXXXX: I Will Go to My Grave with 'Unforgivable Mistake'
NewsMax, 3 Apr 2013
“I made one unforgivable mistake when I was in North Vietnam, and I will go to my grave with this,” XXXXX says on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
The actress and activist made an infamous trip to North Vietnam in 1972 in which she was photographed singing with North Vietnamese military members as she sat on an anti-aircraft gun.
She was criticized then — and ever since — and says she understands the anger.
XXXXX said she knew immediately that she had made a mistake and has apologized repeatedly, both privately and publicly.
She told OWN program “Oprah’s Master Class” that the event happened on the last day of her visit. She was tired, she said, and didn’t want to attend.
"I don't know if I was set up or not,” she said. “I was an adult. I take responsibility for my actions."
The soldiers sang a song and xxxxx joined in with her “feeble Vietnamese.”
As everyone was laughing and singing, XXXXX was led to a gun site, where she sat down.
“And I was laughing and clapping, and there were pictures taken."
As she walked away, XXXXX says she suddenly realized that the pictures would be seen in the United States — and they would not look good.
“There were no planes, the gun was not operable. It didn’t matter. This is an image that belied everything that I was,” XXXXX said.
The visit earned XXXXX the nickname "Hanoi Jane," particularly among U.S. veterans, who were outraged by photos of the young actress.
In 1988, XXXXX met with a group of Vietnam veterans in a church basement in Connecticut while making a film there. She said that while not everyone at the meeting became “fond of XXXXX,” there was healing.
“What I learned,” she said, “we have to listen to each other, even when we don’t agree, even when we think we hate each other. We have to listen to each other’s narratives, not interrupt defensively or with hostility, but really try to open our hearts and listen with empathy.”

40 years too late b!+ch!!!
She knew what she was doing and may her commi-pinko soul rot in hell!
I piss on the thought of her!
And a faux apology. "I was tired". "I didn't speak the language, so I didn't know what they were saying".
Bullshit. Burn in hell.

May she go soon!
I Will Go to My Grave with 'Unforgivable Mistake'

Fuck that xxxx.
You can pick a better word than that - Richard
She only regrets the photograph - not the rest of her actions.
So in other words - she ain't sorry for shit!

This is an image that belied everything that I was,
If that were true, she would not have been there in the first place.
XXXXX said she knew immediately that she had made a mistake and has apologized repeatedly, both privately and publicly.

Ok, where is this evidence of repeated public apologies? What about the treason part?
So a drunk drives a bus off the road, apologizes 40 years later and say's "we're all good now, right?"

It took 40 years for that POS to come up with that feeble line of crap. :boohoo
She knew exactly what she was doing.:mad::mad:
That photograph is her legacy. Nothing that she says or does will ever change that. Tattoos can be removed but treason cannot.

It took 40-years for CBS's The Amazing Race to repeat the same mistake for a new generation of history deficient youths to get caught being stupid.
As for XXXX XXXXX and her husband, piss on 'em.

If we only had drones back then.
Gentlemen, let us not judge the young lady so harshly, after all is she a friend of the greatest naval hero since Bull Halsey, our new Secretary of State, didn't she help finance his enlightening "Winter Soldiers" campaign when his witnesses testified to our atrocities before Congress, the fact that none of them had been there, nor three had never been in uniform was probably just an oversight of these loyal patriots. Of course their loyalty was and is with America's enemies, and always will be.
She is probably still angry at VN Vets for shutting down here clothing line years ago by threatening boycotts, Neiman Marcus in Dallas opened the door on preview day, and found 10K vets with signs pointing our her treason, or the fact that her movies while loved by liberal critics, are box office bombs, so she trots out another apology tour, taking a page from our current Apologist in Chief.
I will not stand in line as some have mentioned, I personally believe that it will be such a popular pastime, that her family will hire Ticketmaster to handle the demand.
She made a conscious choice and decision to do what she did.
Now, she has to live with the results of those decisions that she made.
It's called "personal accountability".
It's a hard lesson to learn -- maybe she should have thought about that before doing what she did.

I almost fell out of my chair. :D
Well said Sir!
She passed Judgement, so let Judgement rein hot on her! She is a Sheol, by definition, for what her actions caused innocent Men to suffer!

"She'ol (pron.: /ˈʃiːoʊl/ SHEE-ohl or /ˈʃiːəl/ SHEE-əl; Hebrew שְׁאוֹל Šʾôl), translated as "grave", "pit", or "abode of the dead", is the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible's underworld, a place of stillness and darkness cut off from God.[1]
The inhabitants of Sheol were the "shades" (rephaim), entities without personality or strength...

Her 40 year wait, was likely because it took that long to get someone like Kerry in the SecDef chair.
Way too late, and way too weak. Perhaps this will encourage more urinal stickers with her photo on them; have not seen one for a long time.

You guys do realize she is only apologizing for sitting on the AA gun, not for her other BS actions in NV. She still feels that she was right in her protests and that any harm done was the fault of the armed forces and not hers.
As has been stated, I will not stand inline for that b***h even to spit or piss on her.
In her biography, she said her one regret was that she did not get to screw Che. Lots of regrets. My one regret is that I did not get to spit in her face in 2005 like Mike Smith did on the Kansas City Country Club Plaza.
Can't wait to piss on her grave. Bet she has herself cremated and ashes scattered to pervent that.

If she gets cremated but doesn't get scattered, who wants to chip in and get her the nicest "urninal" money can buy?

Why can't she just go away, it's obvious that all the contrition that she can muster about this event can change anyone's view of her actions.

I wouldn't waste good piss on her.
I think she brings this up when she feels she is "disappearing" from the limelight in order to get some name and face time.
I will poopie on her grave.
:D
Oh, no reason to be politically correct on this on.
Oh, poor, pitiful, misunderstood me. I made little mistake many years ago and everyone keeps picking on me about it. It's just mean of all those people calling me names. I'm so sorry I let someone use me like that. I had no idea what I was really doing.................. It was just a little mistake..........
FUCK YOU BITCH!
ROT IN HELL!

She and those like her have the blood of 3 million people on their hands. More people died in in Southeast Asia in the 5 years after the U.S. left than in the preceding 20 years of war. And, the dead were 99.9% innocents. Fuck her. When she dies, I hope they bury her upside down so when I ride my bike to the cemetary, I can use her ass for a bike rack while I piss on her grave..
I imagine that the closest airport and town to her headstone is going to enjoy an economic tourism boom.
The airport will have to add an additional terminal.
Rental car agencies will have to expand their fleets.
Hotels/Motels will need to be build.
Maps to the headstone, etc, etc, etc.
Please hurry along to your grave and take you apology with you

Ok, where is this evidence of repeated public apologies?
I thought she tried this before. If I recall, she give an apology test-run back in the late 80's and a vet in the audience stood up and yelled, "Too late, bitch!", which pretty much gave her an indication that the flames of hell were still a bit extreme.
Perhaps she figured that with this country being so upside down now, the heat was no longer so far up in the kelvin range.
........ When she dies, I hope they bury her upside down so when I ride my bike to the cemetary, I can use her ass for a bike rack while I piss on her grave..
Better lean it on something else - it would probably tip over if you used her ass.

Trying to grow grass on her grave could be a problem too with all the uric acid that will be spilled there day in and day out. :munchin
Somebody needs to put her in a professor slot at one of the libthink universities. Then, everybody will think she's cool, and not a stankbitch.

As if she had no influence on CNNs dramatic left turn in the 90's...

Right, Richard? WCH?
If a university wants to employ her as an SME to lecture in specified areas for which she is particularly experienced and students want to attend her classes, that is their decision. Last time I looked out the window this morning and saw the sun coming up over the snow-capped Sierra Nevadas, it still looked and felt like I was living in an America that allows such freedom of choice.
However, YMMV - and so it goes...
Richard :munchin
All of you guys calm down, she said she was sorry....it's not liked she killed 3 guys and then said she was sorry.....
Maybe she can get a job teaching History at Columbia.
My dear friends, what Richard seems to be saying, over and over again, is that he is willing to listen to anyone and everyone - especially when they are discussing something they have some experience in. He feels that he has not only the freedom to do so but the ability to discriminate what is useful and not. And I agree that he does.
Even if some of those speakers also advocate restricting others speech!
While many of us have not achieved Richards' level of enlightenment, I am concerned with the apparent vast majority that no longer have the ability to discriminate what is useful or not! To have such speakers presented as "Professors of Higher Learning" goes beyond the pale IMO
Others have also pointed out that so many "speakers", on all sides of every spectrum, are agenda based. Would any of us accept the words of a R.J.Reynolds scientist - even if he said tobacco was bad? Based upon the history of the several mentioned "Professors" with their over the top rhetoric, not to mention wanton and unrepentant actions (like murder).
I will have to agree with She Who Will Not Be Named in this: It was and still is unforgivable.
While many of us have not achieved Richards' level of enlightenment
lol Is that what you call it?
