While I agree with the principle, just outta curiosity, where does one get one of these certificates?

The bill would require individuals applying for federal employment to "submit certification that such person does not have any seriously delinquent tax debt."

Is that like a certification that I aint a pedophile or kleptomaniac???

Now who wants to guess at the next feel good legislation…people on gov’t assistance should not get that welfare if they owe taxes, veterans should not receive govt retirement if they owe back taxes, no student loans if you (or your parents) owe back taxes. Maybe the IRS should just prosecute the folks that don’t pay their taxes!!! But with our overly complicated tax code…who can really tell if you are a tax cheat or just someone that doesn’t understand how to choose between itemized or standard deductions by subtracting line 40 from line 38 then multiply by $3800 from line 6d then subtract line 42 form 41 if 42 is more than 41 enter 0.

I think the pol-cats should work on FIXING the tax code instead of these “postured” measures to make it appear that they are doing something! This is kinda like the gun laws on the books THEY don’t enforce…so they make more laws.

I doubt as an employment discriminator this would stand in the courts. Certainly appointees would be an exempted class of Executive Branch barnyard animal.

How about wiping clean 500+ critters (and their staffs) who've failed for several years to achieve one of the core performance objectives for which they were hired? I doubt that resolutions from 50 (or even 57) states calling upon them to defund themselves would be heard.

Bad theater. Cue Carole King's "It's Too Late, Baby...."

Doesn't it make more sense to keep them employed and take what they owe a little at a time until the money is paid.
