I posted this on a couple of other forums earlier, but thought it would be worthwhile putting here as well.

A news clip from 1991, titled "Cold Jumps"

Showing the drop of the conscripts from our Airborne Ranger School into Lapland, for a five day survival exercise.

No subtitles, but easy to see what they are doing.

I wasnt an airborne ranger, just served in a LRRP type platoon, but a couple of things brought back familiar feelings, making fire with primitive materials and sleeping in a snow cave.

The winter training is somewhat current as this just hit the news here, I'd guess 1/10 SFG. Visits have taken place earlier, but of course they dont always wind up in the press.
