OK, we're all probably used to seeing evil black rifles bashed in the mainstream press...

I certainly did NOT expect this article from Wired, which if anything is aimed to the young, hip, urban demographic that one would NOT expect to have a positive view of firearm ownership. Old geeks who own guns like myself must be quite the minority of their readership.

So I was pleasantly surprised to read this well-written, neutral article :

(Some very minor factual errors with the article - again, much fewer than I would expect from an article not written by a professional gun writer...)

In the same magazine is a proposal to tax bullets and control the supply.

Well I guess one could say that the one of the articles was written by a journalist with an open mind that present facts and history and the other was written by a propagandist spinning statistics in order to support their preconceived notions...I'll let you figure out which is which!

I read the article. Then I started to read the comments....then I was ready to lose my effing mind over some of those comments. WHERE the hell are these PEOPLE? I want to know. When the hell did millions? thousands? of people suddenly go completely compliant to; ...okay, so communism is not all that bad...we should be given a portion of everyone's money...cause its not fair...and I don't like working cause that's hard...and really why does ANYONE need a AR15 anyway? If you don't agree with me...RACIST!

Its painful to know these people exist in the same country I fight for.
Also, I was not aware that AR stood for "Assault Rifle"

Those People are EVERYWHERE. The Liberals started indoctrinating children generations ago. John Dewey is known for the decimal system, but not known as a Socialist. The American Education system is bloated with Socialist ideas and living. Want to be scared? Take an interest on campus activities anywhere in the good ol' USA. The 1960s are a drop in the bucket compared to what is happening on many university grounds. It has become almost criminal to have conservative opinion or to question the Liberals.

I recently toured the campus of a moderately sized public university here in NC, reputed to be fairly conservative and in a very rural area.

I saw no less than a half-dozen advertisements for gay-lesbian organizations and functions, significant Hispanic gang tagging of public areas, and a couple of large sandwich board ads outside the student union for "condom bingo night".

I was stunned.

John Dewey is known for the decimal system,

Wrong Dewey. Melvil Dewey came up with the decimal system.

It's the entitlement generation. Started in the 60s. Just keeps getting worse.

Holy shit, right?  And this isn't even really that bad compared to how I'm sure it gets in the minds of the multitudes. Entitlements.

Try not to start thinking you hate people. Everything is good if you see it as good :D Even if it is disgusting... *sigh*
