The Presidential Unit Citation (Army) was awarded to MACV-SOG (Military Assistance Command, Vietnam Studies and Observations Group), during a ceremony at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina on April 4, 2001. The citation is awarded to units for extraordinary heroism in action. The unit award is equal to the individual award of the Distinguished Service Cross, the U.S. military's second highest award for valor.

these doccuments were presented during the April 4, 2001 ceromonyat Ft Bragg. I purchased this from a vets estate sale in the Fort Bragg area around 2007. It Came Framed up in its current condition. It would definitly make a good addition to any war room. asking $200 plus actual shipping to your location.

What is the date on the award? Is it an old one or just reissued under another president? Thanks!

This was not a "Reissue", it is the first!! The Mission wasn't declassified enough until then. I was seated in the center Tent in the picture, wearing my RT New York Team Hat.

After looking some more, that is not the first issuance, this was:

Since this is a piece of history, it might be fitting for it to rest in the Airborne & Special Operations Museum. I'm sure they have something about the MACV SOG, though IIRC it wasn't a whole lot, it's been a while.

It might even be tax deductible. If not, I'm sure more than one person would be willing to part with a few dollars to have it in a museum versus a private collection.

If it comes off of hold, I've got cash on standby and will take it.

I have two or three sets of the original issues. However, not for sale. One set is personal, one set will go to s museum and the other set will remain in storage.
