Here are just a few examples of what has surfaced with much more to come.

* In 59 voting districts in the Philadelphia region, Obama
received 100% of the votes with not even a single vote recorded for
Romney. (A mathematical and statistical impossibility).

* In 21 districts in Wood County Ohio, Obama received 100% of
the votes where GOP inspectors were illegally removed from their
polling locations – and not one single vote was recorded for Romney.
(Another statistical impossibility).

* In Wood County Ohio, 106,258 voted in a county with only
98,213 eligible voters.
* In St. Lucie County, FL, there were 175,574 registered
eligible voters but 247,713 votes were cast.
* The National SEAL Museum, a polling location in St. Lucie
County, FL had a 158% voter turnout.
* Palm Beach County, FL had a 141% voter turnout.
* In Ohio County, Obama won by 108% of the total number of
eligible voters.

NOTE: Obama won in every state that did not require a Photo ID andlost in every state that did require a Photo ID in order to vote.
Imagine that!

Thanks for posting that, Snaquebite, because I guarantee it'll be the only place I'll see it.

If I were to guess, a lot of those votes were cast by people from the North East that also have homes in FL and votred twice. Didn't a Congressional candidate from MD admit she voted in both states? I don't think FL has asked her to face charges yet. The Rebublicrats have yet to review these votes and make the results public. If they even care.

Dubious web-site and dubious post without authorship/sources and with > questionable "stats".

For example: The linked web-site claims - "In St. Lucie County, FL, there were 175,574 registered eligible voters but 247,713 votes were cast."

However: According to the OFFICIAL St Lucie County election results - there were 123,301 votes cast (Official Results includes All Early Voting, All Absentee and All Precinct results, a 70.65% voter turnout).

http://www.tcpalm.com/election-results/st-lucie/2012/general/

Anybody can go check the stats - I suspect they're all skewed and used to support an agenda which benefits from sympathetic readers sending them on without checking the claims of the author. Sad...but it's the blogosphere. :(

And so it goes...

I will second what Richard said, people will post things on the internet knowing that a small minority will actually take the time to check the facts...here are the results for Wood County, OH, which are posted here:

Wood County OH Results (http://www.co.wood.oh.us/boe/Election%20Archives.html)

I didn't see anything over about 65% for President Obama in any precinct

Also, registered voters were ~108 K and actually voting were ~64 K

For states requiring voter ID and states that don't and referencing that against states that went for President Obama or Mitt Romney, even a cursory look reveals that the stat quoted here isn't correct:

Voter ID by State (http://www.ncsl.org/legislatures-elections/elections/voter-id.aspx)

Voter ID Laws by State (http://www.brennancenter.org/analysis/election-2012-voting-laws-roundup)

For St. Lucie County at least, the stats are actually accurate and from the officially announced results. They are just a misreading of the results.

If you go here (http://www.slcelections.com/Pdf%20Docs/2012%20General/GEMS%20SOVC%20REPORT.pdf) (85 page PDF), you will see the election results for St. Lucie County as announced by the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections on November 10, 2012. The first two pages show the number of registered voters and the number of ballots counted for each polling place. As you will see, in every polling place, the percentage turnout was greater than 100% and matches the numbers in the original post above, and for the county as a whole it was about 140%. No explanation is provided for what these terms mean, so if you stopped here, you would be "WTF?" If you proceed to the following pages, though, you will see the Presidential results, where the columns are now labeled "registered voters" and "times counted", with additional columns for total, blank and over votes. Here, the turnout percentages are much lower, and for the county as a whole matches the 70% turnout Richard notes above.

Why the difference? The clue is the difference between 140% and 70%. Two times. They don't bother to explain, and if you just looked at the summary on page one, you wouldn't know, but there were two ballots, because of the large number of races and referenda, so total ballots counted was about twice the number of votes counted. Not exactly twice, because in some races, some people did not vote every time.

An example of Hanlon's corollary to Occam's Razor - never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by ignorance. The militia people, whatever dubiousness they may have in other areas, weren't lying, at least on this one, they just misread poorly presented information (or repeated another's misreading).

Though if you want real ignorance, find the 146 or so people in St. Lucie County who voted for Rosanne Barr for POTUS.

Registered to vote is not proof that fraud is not present. I could find to information on any legal proceedings. This should be a slam dunk for conviction, and if you were to maake an example of anyone here is a poster child.

Maryland Democrat quits congressional race amid vote fraud allegations
By Ben Pershing

This post has been updated

A Maryland Democratic candidate quit her congressional race Monday after her own party told state officials that she had committed fraud by voting in both Maryland and Florida in recent elections.

Wendy Rosen, a small-business owner running against freshman Rep. Andy Harris (R) in the Eastern Shore-based 1st Congressional District, released a statement saying that “with great regret, and much sorrow” she was resigning from the contest.

“Personal issues have made this the hardest decision that I have had to make,” Rosen said

Rosen’s announcement came the same day the state Democratic party released a letter to state Attorney General Douglas Gansler and state prosecutors reporting the allegations against Rosen.

“The Maryland Democratic Party has discovered that Ms. Rosen has been registered to vote in both Florida and Maryland since at least 2006; that she in fact voted in the 2006 general election both in Florida and Maryland; and that she voted in the presidential preference primaries held in both Florida and Maryland in 2008,” wrote Yvette Lewis, the state party chair. “This information is based on an examination of the voter files from both states. We believe that this is a clear violation of Maryland law and urge the appropriate office to conduct a full investigation.”

A senior Maryland Democrat said the party had been tipped off this weekend by someone within the party about Rosen’s potential issue. After checking the allegation, the party contacted Rosen on Monday morning and urged her to quit.

Local Democratic committees in the 1st district will now meet and vote on a new candidate to replace Rosen on the ballot. The new name must be submitted to the state by Sept. 27.

Regardless of his opponent, Harris is considered a safe bet for reelection. Though the 1st district was previously competitive — Democrat Frank Kratovil won the seat in 2008 before being ousted by Harris in 2010 — it was redrawn to be safer for Republicans after the 2010 Census.

Voter fraud has been a heated political issue, both in Maryland and across the country. Republicans have frequently accused Democrats of turning their backs on the practice, while Democrats say the GOP uses alleged fraud as a way to keep Democrats from the polls.

“If the Maryland Democrat Party is willing to push one of its own candidates out of the race due to voter fraud, I’m sure this means they will join us in an effort to purge the rolls across Maryland of illegal immigrants, the deceased, and those otherwise unqualified to vote,” said David Ferguson, executive director of the Maryland Republican Party. “It is a sad state of affairs that Democrat voters considered Wendy Rosen to be their model citizen for the First District and represent them on November’s ballot.”

As recently as Sunday, Rosen still believed her campaign was going full-speed ahead.

“My trip to Charlotte was incredible!” she wrote on her Facebook page. “I didn’t get a moment on the floor of the arena ... I spent all of my time hunting for campaign support! Everyone was so helpful from Jan Schakowsky and Ben Cardin to all of the women’s groups, environmental groups, jewish organizations. I feel re-energized for this last 8 weeks! Forward, not Backward!”

Though the 100% for Obama claims are false, there are investigations ongoing....there are probably cases of people committing fraud by sending in an absentee ballot and then voting again at the poll....LINK (http://www.wcpo.com/dpp/news/region_central_cincinnati/downtown/Poll-worker-accused-of-voter-fraud-in-Hamilton-County-speaks-out)

I've come to realize that I can always depend on Richard to bring some balance to our discussions. Cobwebs I concur and have noticed the same thing. Dusty, spot on metaphor too. Richard I thank you for your ability to lend a note of balance to the discussions on this BB.

On that note of balance, Richard I have question for you:

What is your methodology for finding and qualifying the articles that so often are contrarian in nature to the initial impression and/or feel to a hot thread like this? To be more specific I do realize that there can tend to be some level of subjective scrutiny on all of our parts when we post articles to PS.com but I was just curious as to the way that you go about it.

(If you prefer Richard we can move this to a PM conversation to avoid hijacking this thread, if you are up for it. :o)
