Gun owners are on the defensive these days from assaults on their civil rights. Sen. Feinstein’s 2013 Assault Weapons Ban and Vice President Biden’s list of gun control initiatives are only the beginning. Behind the scenes, US military veterans are afraid they are being specifically targeted and are quickly losing their 2nd Amendment rights. According to one group, in over 150,000 instances, they already have.
“Mentally defective” veterans
There’s a phenomenon in the US military that has always puzzled this author. No American seems more pro-tyranny and anti-We The People than the active duty US soldier. But no American is more pro-We The People and anti-tyranny than the US military veteran. For generations, veterans have been the defenders of liberty in America, not the US military. Now, all that may change if the Obama administration has its way

I'll say it...Gabbi Gifford is clearly “Mentally defective” and her hubby (Mark Kelly) is on Fox News Sunday telling everyone in America that he AND SHE have guns in their home...why isn't the libtardia media demanding that they turn those guns over to the police!!!!
Oh and Kelly lied about the 1.7 million number and NO ONE challenged him on it!

My thoughts and prayers are offered to the Giffords; the woman survived a gun shot wound to the head and managed a near miraculous recovery.
...her husband is a damn astronaut! How many of us were kids, dreaming about being an astronaut when we were grew up.
Both, inspirational achievements.
Both, pristine examples of what is wrong in society and in government.
He is a loving husband and some low life scum shot his wife in the grape.
How fucked up is that ?!?!
He obviously has a relationship with guns, but now that guns have been used against his wife, something needs to be done to stem the violence.
...well, Mr Kelly, where was your public campaign BEFORE your wife was injured?
Where guns "ok" prior to your wife being shot?
Was gun violence something that 'lesser citizens' had to worry about?
Now, that your life has been impacted, you are more than willing to cry out from the highest hilltop to disarmy the public...
...as long as YOU get to keep yours.
...and why not, you are a good guy, why should you give up YOUR guns.
Emotional stress will do that to a man, you probably dont even realize that in your push to take care of your wife, you are exploiting her for hypocritical political gain; but thats ok...
...parade the poor lady around town and show everyone how hard it is for her to be a survivor.
Like many of our citizen base, he was apathetic to social issues that didnt directly impact his life. Now, much like the trailer park resident that cant wait to jump in front of a camera to talk about the tornado, he cant say enough about everyone needs to give up their guns.
Thank you Mr Kelly for epitomizing the modern day American citizen.
Mrs Giffords is a politician who has suffered a life changing injury at the hands of a criminal, so my comments on HER position will be tempered with sympathy.
She is still, at the core, a hypocritical politician. Separated by the elitist government from those she seeks to control through the manipulation of benefits and legislation.
Quick to exercise her own rights, quick to demonize others that want to defend those same rights, and not in possession of the self-awareness needed to separate the real villain from the villain created by the politics of control.
Sadly, as you suffer through the recovery process, probably not even able to realize that you are being paraded around as a poster child for the anti-gun/gun violence crowd. Vladimir Lenin (reportedly) once described certain people as "useful idiots" or simply just misguided sympathizers.
Either way, whats OK for you is obviously not good enough for the citizens your office would represent in government.
...thank you as well for epitomizing the modern political persona.
Mrs Gifford, Mr Kelly, God bless you both. Your tragedy is in my thoughts and prayers. I wish for you, nothing short of a complete recovery and a full and enjoyable life.
Please stay out of mine, and exercise your political hypocrisy somewhere else.
Well said Billy.
I recall that the LEO investigation into this incident concluded that had the shooter instead drove his SUV into the crowd, there would have been an even greater loss of life and even more serious injuries.

Yeah, but the gub'ment doesn't feel threatened by SUV, wielding rednecks.

I also believe the breach of the 2nd Amendment rights is followed by
the 4th Amendment.
Albiet the 5th Amendment ---nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
...as long as YOU get to keep yours.
Either way, whats OK for you is obviously not good enough for the citizens your office would represent in government.

Exactly.
The transparency of the hypocrisy pisses me off nearly as much as the fact that the idiots are just eating it up.
Just wait until the gun control bill passes. Maybe the only thing in it will be the tightening up on mental issues and reporting.
All those Vets with PTSD on their records are going to be the first ones feed into the system.
Entire post
Post of the year, Billy. Excellent.
...thank you as well for epitomizing the modern political persona.
Excellent post.

This is a critical issue that goes back to the core values of our nation. Gun grabbers have no idea of the shitstorm they are precipitating. Watch New York.

Billy-bach ....Well said brother... x10 on your observations on the politicizing personal pain and anguish. The tables are somewhat turned (or twisted) in this instance...but a prime example.
To the original and the PTSD discussion...well...who didn't see this coming? I believe that has been mentioned here previously. Some have a real issue. Then there are those that found it too easy to take on the label in order to achieve a percentage... You reap what you sow.
So who does have a problem and who was convinced that they MUST have one?

Mark Kelly buys an AR (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/03/09/Gabby-Giffords-Husband-Buys-AR-15-Announces-He-s-Not-Keeping-It-After-News-Leaks-Out)
Apparently he is going to turn it over to Tuscon PD. Right
They cannot take what you will not give.

People worry about LE coming to the door to take our guns.
I'm not a part to the whole "over my cold dead body" type. The assumption on the left is that I, and others like me, are though. So if we look at it as a theoretical possibility, I don't think there's any agency who would accept potential high casualties per home simply to disarm citizens deemed unfit to own said weapons. In my opinion, most LEOs would tell the judge/agency to go get the gun his own damned self in this situation. They may even wish them luck in such an endeavor, though that probably won't help.

IMO Don't think it would come to that -
Just issue a warrant and wait for a traffic violation, DL renewal anything that might trigger further action, without bloodshed.

Exactly.
All they have to do is to make it so that you cannot take it out and shoot it, by bans, taxes, range limitations, or mag and ammo restrictions, and then it really isn't much good except as a wall-hanger or conversation piece among a very few friends, unless you want to go full-on outlaw.

Besides, the DHS will have all the ammo.
