Can't find any other sources, but as far as I can tell this all happened late this evening. Looks like it was a charity event he was at. Sad day... Seemed like a great guy.

I'm shocked that this happened at Rough Creek. I've been hunting there as a guest. It is upscale even by TX.standards. Private helipad in front of the lodge. Five star restaurant and a women's spa.
With all.the firearms in play there, not exactly a low risk place for a hit. Glen Rose is not close to any major city-IIRC about two plus hours from Dallas. In the Hill country but pretty open territory.
Pretty sure the place has security cameras all over with the clientele they cater to.
RIP Warrior.

They have a "suspect" by that name in custody. Hasn't been convicted.
:( Rest in Peace, Chris Kyle. One of my good friends who is a former SEAL had the honor of working with him in Iraq and had nothing but good things to say about him.

You are right. Just read a bunch of the comments.
Chris was trying to help people in need "fellow Vets" which was noble and the shooter was a fellow troubled vet. I can not pardon him for what he did and for sure Texas will deal with him but he needed help and at least Chris with his program was trying to help. How many others are trying to help Vets like he was.
I am just waiting for the idiots to say see all those PTSD Vets need to be on the no gun list. That will push people away from seeking help from my stand point.....

We are truly deminished as a country. May God bless CPO Kyle's family and accept his warrior into his kingdom. May his murderer get the help he needs.
Having never heard a shot fired in anger I am out of my lane but here goes.
I hope we, as a country, use this tragedy to get our not so obviously wounded worriers the help they need.
God forgive the murderer.

Why are all these SEAL's dying by non combat related incidents!? It is a shame.

A real loss for words what evil men can do...Even to those willing to help them. By the way I know my number of kills is higher... out of respect for my friend I can only give you my word it's 255. I watched this yesterday but had to wait a day to pay my respects. My deepest respect to Taya for sharing such personal memories about Chris and his life. She honors him. I am sure she still draws strength from him each day. God bless his family always.
