Look at all the juicy prohibited components!

In loud, arrogant tone..."no -- one -- needs -- more -- than -- seven grains of salt to kill a fly...and it has a pistol grip...stop the madness...":D
Just wait until PETI* weighs in on this

While true...
Awwwww hell....it's simply true.:(
I will say that when I first got it I thought "closer is better"...not true. 3-5 feet seem optimum for your run of the mill housefly.
The big fat hairy bastards...the first one usually stuns them - then I have to hit them once or twice more before they stop their feeble attempts at escape by breakdancing on the windowsill.
I have only gotten ONE mid-flight...very gratifying.
Oh yes - table salt works MUCH better than sea salt or Kosher salt. Me thinks the grains are smaller for "regular" table salt.

I always knew that G1 ballistics model was a crock.
OK. Since you finally owned up...
I GOTTA HAVE ONE!
I am very ambivalent about ordering one of these...
Do I order just one,,
Or go for the big time and get the ARMS DEALER package...
before barry puts them on the a-salt weapons ban list???
:D:D:D:D
Description
This is the wholesale "Arms Dealer" package of one hundred forty-four (144) BUG-A-SALT Original Salt Guns: Biggest Savings!
Here is your opportunity to finally make a difference in the world, and a real buck. We figure you might realistically be able to sell this quantity over a two day fair, trade or gun show if you work hard at it.
Take the lead in helping organize the growing BUG-A-SALT Army (Arnold Palmer had an Army, so why not BUG-A-SALT?). Over eighteen years old to enlist. And remember, with this much firepower out there: Pity the Fly!

I wonder how well they'd work in high humidity areas like yours?
Pat
Don't have too many flies around here, but do have a lot of yellow jackets and democrats in the summer.
JJ, get the dealer package and send me one to demo...

Ooo Oooo Oooooo .... can I get in on that offer. We could then A-salt Boulder.
You could head up I-36. I'll go around the back way, up Hwy 93, and we'll meet in the middle.

There are so many flies up there we would need the crew-served GAU-Salt model.

Am I the only one that sees the value of this a-salt weapon at a spring break party on the beach? Talk about an interesting spin on body shots. Oh, the possibilities...

Given the MAJ's endorsement, I just ordered one! Heck, I posted the vid as a joke. :o Maybe this thread should be moved to the Weapons Discussion Area. And we can discuss various salt brands and grains in Ammo Talk. :D

I kid you not...
Went up to an Amish community (when it was still warm) in y daughter's little convertible - not one word...it's a cool little car- and the "flies from the farm" were absolutely insane.
When I got back and put the top up, there were probably 25-40 flies in her car still...
I felt like Han Solo in the Millenium Falcon shooting tie fighters in the first Star Wars movie. I had to get the shop vac out to clear all the carcasses and salt sprawl.
It was AWESOME :D
Come summertime -
Arms Dealer status right here Baby.

I'm seriously considering hopping in the RV and heading to Quartzsite, AZ, next Snow Bird season and setting up a booth. :D

p.s.: My wife had an Alfa Romeo Spider when we got married. Loved it! ;)
“Target, 12 o’clock. Fly in open. Above ridge line.”
“Roger. 12 o’clock, above ridgeline. Target identified.”
“Range, 1.85 meters. Wind zero.”
“Sniper ready.”
"Wait. Switching teleprompter...Send it.”
“Splash...Bang.”
“Miss…how the hell did you…?"
“Ow. That’s got to hurt. I’m gone.”
Result: ;)

Eagle5US let us know when they approve your Fly-Free License.
Got it! Unfortunately, there are no Bad Flys around. I guess I'll go out and do some fly-fire drills. ;)

lol Made my day. :D
Rats! Fly season has opened but I need a sidearm version of this A-Salt gun. The little suckers are landing on the front sight, the "ammo" magazine, or my nose. They are not playing fair. :(

I'm fairly new to this forum, so I just got around to reading this thread...can't believe no one else posted this pic... :)
I'm ordering one of these today...I raise horses and use fly predators which help some, but one of these will make porch sitting a much more fun experience!

I noticed that his phone number is in my old Area Code. It's solidly built and accurate. He just needs to come up with a shorter version. :D

Do they come in sea salt calibers? How about Picatinny rails?

One reviewer said that it worked fine on flies; but on other bugs, not so much. OK, so if this is the "shotgun" approach, can I go to 00 Buck and use "kosher salt" for the bigger critters, or will I get mis-fires?

I doubt that it would malfunction, but it's not a real shotgun and the force that the grains of salt leave the barrel would be the same no matter what size, so drag would be increased with a larger grain lessening the impact. Most other bugs are easier to smack by other means than flies, though.

As there is an argument to be made for larger projectile mass, there is also the problem that with higher mass comes individual projectile vectoring. IE: The larger grains of salts multifaceted crystalline structure, will disburse and the target may pass between the approaching salt chunks.
One must match-the-hatch, so to speak. If the target is the fly family, smaller salt grains could prove more efficient. If the target is larger, Sea or Kosher may be more appropriate.
As a reverse corollary, I would remind you of the scene in Kill Bill II. The heroin attempts to enter the villain's trailer, where upon she is caught flat footed by a double dose of 12ga rock salt, at blank point range.
While the total load mass could have been correct, the grains size was to small to be successful. Ultimately the wound caused little damage, she went from 34B to 34 A+.
Uma Karuna, "The Bride", went on to cause total inhalation of her enemies..
I think she is attributed with the quote: "To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women,, RLTW."

Thanks for reviving this thread PSM. For some odd reason I had to think of junior high. (well the german equivalent of it)
I remember the janitor being a huge pain in the ass and me and my mates all more or less hated the guy. Now, if he had been more like Lorenzo, I would have probably volunteered to help the guy. Or maybe even asked him to adopt me.
"Why can't you be like Mr. Janitor, dad? He's the coolest guy ever. Now give me my pocket money, I need to get some fuggin maggots!"
Now they added cricket snacks and sauces: Crick-ettes! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJZPTed38Ys&utm_source=Bugasalt+Newsletter&utm_campaign=f1d24fd400-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2017_11_16_EWYK_Crickets&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f387a2acc9-f1d24fd400-54690937&mc_cid=f1d24fd400&mc_eid=068f210955)
