With all those offenses taken together, more than 4 in every 10 commanders at the rank of lieutenant colonel or above who were fired fell as a result of behavioral stumbles since 2005.

The problem is testosterone. We just need to outlaw that evil hormone.
I wonder why we call prostitutes "hookers"?

Some people claim the term "hooker" started in the Civil War, from the camp followers that hung around with General Hooker's men, but the term was around before then. There is another explanation that it is from Corlear's Hook, a section of New York; and yet another explanation that it came from the idea of prostitutes snagging or hooking (enticing) their customers.
The Gov't wanted to make the military a direct reflection of society and that is exactly what they got.
We use to be held to a higher standard, now we are just as morally bankrupt as the people we defend.
During President Clinton's term we all had to sign some bullshit card for your wallet and were issued some bullshit thing to hang on your dog-tags saying we were responsible for our own actions. You actually had to sign this and it was an Article 15 if you didn't have it on you.
It was really difficult to punish anyone who was having an affair during the Clinton era, with all the blow-jobs in the oval office. The defense was "The Commander in Chief is doing it and he didn't lose his job."
Those cards were a joke, if you need to open your wallet and read a card before you act on an issue you may or may not deem morally questionable, I don't want you on my team.
I thank SGM "Junebug" Graham for knowing the same and never giving me one.

Outstanding.
Moral decay is what libdem politicians are all about, and they're what the press is all about.
The line was drawn during the Clinton era, but the two sides (right and wrong) have become polarized to the point of conflict with Obama's manipulations.

Brother... I think you nailed it.
FWIW: I even stood in a few formations back then where one of the 'inspected items' was your dogs tags to make sure you had the Army values tag on them...
Whats next?
Our SGM refused to hold those formations. He said he was never getting promoted again and when he was done being the SGM for B Co 1st Bat, he was done being a SGM for the Army.
He was a great man, he did everything for the teams in his company and nothing for himself.

No I mean for everyone, everywhere.
You'd have thunk they'd have seen it coming. I mean, sex is the psychiatric basis for gambling.
Sex is why we gamble. Sex is why we drink. Sex is why we give birth.

Glad this wasn't the law when we were in Thailand. The entire 46th Co would have been fired...

There was definitely no low-T syndrome in USASFT! ;)
Well...we were disbanded...but not because the Thais wanted us gone.

I would argue that the American military has always been a reflection of its society, sometimes for the better or sometimes for the worse.
We use to be held to a higher standard, now we are just as morally bankrupt as the people we defend.
Really? How would GEN Eisenhower's behavior during WW2 support or counter such a suppositon, for example?

We never had a 'higher standard' we had common sense.
We trained warfighters and as such....
fighting was ok long as it was a fair fight.
Drinking was what men did...just be smart about it.
Sex was between you and your whomever (fill in the female) and will only be an issue if you or she makes it one.
We were not the boy scouts...it was the US Army.

I agree. I am not saying I condone adultery, because I don't. But I also live in the real world, and understand when we have a force that has been at war for 12 years now, sometimes shit is going to happen.
Before my husband and I got married, I told him two things. 1) If he ever felt the need to hit me, he better kill me with the first strike. 2) If he ever had a one night stand, he had better keep it to himself. The only reason to tell me would be to unburden himself, not about honesty. He can keep it on his conscience.
My mother told my father the same thing, and they have been happily married for 42 years. Many of my friends think that is me giving him permission to misbehave. To me, I just wanted to outline my expectations so there were no misconceptions. None of my high school girlfriends married military men, and do not understand the strain it puts on a marriage, so they have no hope of seeing where I am coming from.
