Goodmorning,

I signed my 18X contract 4 days ago down at MEPS. I originally was told that I was not qualified two weeks earlier by the guidance counselor due to an allergy waiver that I had approved a few months back. Per some great advice I read in previous posts I told him that I would sign 18X and only 18X. He submitted an exception to policy which came back approved. My recruiter told me that I could now head back to MEPS to take the airborne physical and sign my contract. When I was down there, however, I was told that I could still not take the airborne physical, that I would have to take it at OSUT during reception most likely. I still recieved an 18X contract, and saw the approved exception. My question is does this seem like a red flag to anyone or am I just picking nits? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I would like to see more people comment on this as well. First off, congrats on getting the contract. I'm going through something similiar. I had to get a waiver for a penicillin allergy and was told that having any waiver was disqualifying for 18x by MEPS. That seemed a bit silly to me as I had no other medical problems. My recruiter denied that this was the case, and I should be going back shortly to MEPS to finish up everything and get the contract. I hope it is still the case that there is an exception to that policy.

First of all this belongs in the Medical Section. Attention to detail!!

That said, plenty of people get their ABN physical at BCT/AIT.
