I'm sorry but are there ANY Obama supporters that are willing to stand by this ad?
Wake up. If you support Obama, this is small potato's. Wait until closer to election day and see just how far they will actually go!! Put nothing past these people - they are capable of incredible acts of savagery in their pursuit of power.

I'm a bad dad. I thought it was a riot.
I thought it would get and hold a collegians attention and i liked that there were topical points -- maybe an 18YO has even heard of some of them.
I also didn't see or hear a "I'm BHO and I approve this message"

I think I am a great dad, good father, and fantastic daddy! I can't say I 'liked' this, but I won't say it offended me greatly, either. I found it stupid, but having worked with young people these past many years, they often like "stupid" a lot. (Have you seen any of the 'popular' prime time shows these days? It's a lot less 'offensive' than most of them.) I'm pretty sure if my 30-something daughters were still in their teens, and we saw this while sitting on the sofa watching TV, and I expressed my dismay at its inappropriateness, this is the response I'd get: "Oh, daddy!":D
It'll probably be effective for its target audience, which is the idea. I do have to admit I DID find it less offensive than almost every other television ad for any presidential candidate that I've seen thus far. (They all make me yearn for the Hillary Clinton 3 a.m. ad!)

I disagree. I have a 15 year old daughter that I am trying to teach to be responsible about sex. This commercial goes against that, in my opinion. I get it, sex sells. I just don't think it should be used in a Presidential campaign.

Nor do I.
I raised my daughter's that way, too. I don't think watching this would have driven them over the edge to uninhibited sexual expression and activity. I'm pretty sure they'd have thought it stupid - in silence - and object the their old, fuddy-duddy daddy's negative comments.
Is is inappropriate? Yes
Does it have no place in a presidential race? Yes
Is it going to be effective? Yes
Will we see more like it? Probably
Should we have expected less from this particular campaign? Two guesses!
All that said, I still stand by my statement that it is less offensive than most other campaign ads.
Can someone post another link .. title ..Blocked here..Proxy server
Thanks
While here in Asfghanistan I watch Hulu when I can.. Man every break their is an Obama Election Ads.
Just saying
Her first time.....with a neat guy.....how cool.....was it oral sex or full penetration....with a reference to Mr. Eye Candy ...
Very classy.
FWIW and MOO, but I suspect we'll be seeing more of these type campaign ads in the future, not less, as they are aimed at the demographic which grew up with the Internet, cell phones, YouTube, IM, 'sexting', "American Pie", etc and who will likely see little - if anything - wrong with it. Just sayin'...
And so it goes...

As afchic, I have a 15 y/o daughter. My wife is away on AD, so I'm Mr. Mom.
I get the "Oh, dad" remark as does ZonieDriver about some things.
But I draw the line - this is an inappropriate for a public ad.
I wondered about BHO's feelings toward his daughters seeing this ad, then I remembered his remarks concerning being "punished with a baby".
This is just par for the course.

I have a 17 y/o daughter, and keeping them on the straight and narrow is hard enough without the politicians running this sort of ad.
It is almost as bad as "Julia", Ward of the State.
I can't see Romney or Ryan allowing something like this to be used on their behalf.
If I were undecided, and was even minimally self-aware, I doubt this would cause me to vote for the candidate who endorsed it.

Maybe FLOTUS can get her to do an add with a banana about eating school lunch.
...the hard pill to swallow is that this is what our national moral code has become.
I am bracing myself for the worst; I simply no longer have faith in the American public to do anything less robotic than vote for the incumbent.

An old campaigner told me one time that it's hard to gain votes, but its damn easy to lose them. Politicians need to be careful to avoid alienating anybody that don't absolutely have to.
Believe it or not, there are quite a few democrats that attend catholic and protestant churches. The democrat hold on these voters is fairly tenuous as it is---I would have advised against running this ad, as I envision many moderate democrat christian moms not really liking this ad a lot.
The loose, tattooed college female demographic was probably going to vote for Obama anyway. If Obama's campaign feels like they have to tighten this voter group up, this might well be the final desperate act of a losing campaign.
Nothing more than a ridiculous attempt to polish-up Obama's tarnished "rock star" image from 2008. There is that "cool factor" again. Why anyone would listen to this lesbian by default is beyond me. Dunham is nothing more than an attention seeking fool, trying to drum up buzz about her HBO show. And that is clearly made evident by her recent twitter post from yesterday: “It tickles me to no end that while my twitter feed was blowing up with conservative hate I was literally hanging out in a pile of bisexuals.” Blatant attempt at ruffling more feathers. Lame.
This is a great counter argument:
I’m picturing the co-ed who wakes up the next morning hungover and filled with regret. She’s sick at heart after sleeping with an irresponsible, manipulative, abusive jerk who just happens to have the slimey talent of charm. Even though the first time was a mistake, she can now choose with a clear head and select a man who will give her the respect she deserves. Her mistake should also serve as a warning to others now coming of age. In this way, I think the analogy is perfectly appropriate. It just happens to be the wrong side making the case.

Also:
Lena Dunham, the creator and star of HBO's "Girls," is no stranger to oversharing — and she's done it again in an ad on behalf of President Obama in which she suggestively describes what "your first time" should be like.
This is not the Obama's campaign doing. This is Lena D's doing.
As Susa said, "Dunham is nothing more than an attention seeking fool, trying to drum up buzz about her HBO show"
You know this my not be an endorsed campaigning ad but it's still run under the Paid for by Obama for America So way I look at it he does back or has endorsed this AD. It has By Obama for America and that's "His" site.. SO

That is a good point. I don't know. Generally I thought the candidate will add, I am ___________ and I endorse this message. There are a lot of PACs and groups who do their thing.
Lend D, is........... Trying to come up with a fitting G rate term. :)

That was funny... but wasn't it 'offensive' in the same manner as that it parodies?

To bad there isn'nt a morning after pill, to erase the bad judgement of these sheeple. The Men in Black tech props department is locked up. But real life has consequences. And most people have difficulty admitting out loud that they got whamboozled. They don't have to articulate it out loud in the voting booth. And some of them are going to show up.

Their white guilt assuaged last election, they'll pull Romney's lever this time and say they voted Obama again.
Whatever gets the job done.
While campaigning in 1980, Reagan joked about his switch from Democrat to Republican: "I know what it's like to pull the Republican lever for the first time, because I used to be a Democrat myself, and I can tell you it only hurts for a minute and then it feels just great."
It's clever and it's funny because the joke is on him. The Obama ad, OTH, targets women voters -- something any candidate had better be very careful doing. As a woman, I'm annoyed at gender-biased advertising; the same issues that reach male voters also influence my vote. I don't need something dumbed-down, sugar-coated, mocked, or colored pink.
