Gray told The Daily Caller that the $1.4 billion spent on the Obama family last year is the “total cost of the presidency,” factoring the cost of the “biggest staff in history at the highest wages ever,” a 50 percent increase in the numbers of appointed czars and an Air Force One “running with the frequency of a scheduled air line.”

It's only natural for someone who believes increasing the size of the public sector is going to solve the unemployment crisis.

I keep trying to play Pollyanna's "glad game" in order to maintain some sanity. In a time where this nation is financially strapped, the lack of fiscal responsibility of ALL those on the taxpayers back is out and out wrong.
This doesn't surprise me one bit.
I vote we change Barry's and Michelle's "official" portraits in the W.H. to these ....

I checked out the article and didn't find anything to reference any of the numbers against.
Here's what factcheck.org has to say
The first e-mail forwarded to us by numerous readers claims that "Obama flew in Air Force One 172 times, almost every other day" last year. That's based on a blog post written by the Los Angeles Times' Andrew Malcolm, who got his figures from veteran CBS News reporter Mark Knoller. But figures provided to FactCheck.org by the Air Force's 89th Airlift Wing show that Obama traveled less on Air Force One last year, and in his first two years, than President George W. Bush did.

They cite several sources, including the 89th Airlift Wing (responsible for air force 1.) It seems like there is plenty of misinformation out there.

Well, he's rackin' up the "sorties" right now.
Wonder how the FLOTUS stats work out between Ms Obama and Ms Bush.

Thats because you have to buy the book if you want the details (Source) (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0974810355/thedaical-20)
Your fact check reference is from 2011, relates to a chain email from last year and only relates to flight hours from 2010. Further, it is only contrasting the logged flight time from Obama versus Bush. Therefore, fact check really does not have much to say at all.

That article I believe is on the Obama FAMILY and not just POTUS, which is what "Factcheck" checked on. (Hmmmmm, say that five times real fast). I call BS on "Factcheck". I am tired of some of these so called "fact check" places that seem to be as unbiased as the lame stream media.
MOO but I am truly tired of all the excuses and BS being made up to protect this President. He is toxic in my opinion and needs to be replaced by an electric washing machine if necessary. :munchin

I have no idea, but I doubt trips to President Bush's ranch in Texas are more expensive than all expense paid trips to Europe. It's probably not looking good for the current First Lady.

That's true, but I never heard President Bush's Air Force 1 trips referred to as “running with the frequency of a scheduled air line.”
This book is IMO a continuation of the "debate" about the necessity of Presidential trips that started after President Obama's first year in office. Before that, it was "President Bush spends too much time at the ranch!" The saga continues...
