We all belong to the Government...

That is sad on many levels.
I wonder what would have happened if the RNC had made a video asking people what they thought about 'belonging' to the government? Or what if Todd Akin had said something to the effect that 'Y'all is Government Cattle? I am wondering if the this type of reference would or should be covered under Hate Speech Law?
Sad indeed. These folks appear to yearn for establishment of a Utopian welfare state.
A natural progression for these type of folks would seem to be the abolition of private property rights, establishing heavy progressive taxation, abolish rights of inheritance, nationalize banks, government ownership of factories/manufacturing, transportation, etc., etc.,...the government could take real good care of us then.

These people appear to be utterly detached from reality. I'd bet money they haven't walked on top of anything except sidewalk and pavement in years.

Stark contrast to Clint Eastwood's statement "We own this Government.. politicians are employees of ours... when somebody doesn't do the job, we gotta let them go"............
I happen to believe Clint's got it right. Goes to show what we have reaped in this country... seeds of good intentions gone bad...
I swore to myself I was going to watch as much of the DNC as the RNC, so that my opinions would be about what I saw and heard for myself, vs reading what others saw and heard.
I couldn't do it. I think I got through a couple hours the first night, and then just had to turn it off. It was either that, or put a brick through my brand new 60 inch flat screen, and we all know THAT wasn't going to happen.
The fact they put that crazy Fluke woman on prime time says to me all I need to know.
According to the pollsters, the RNC was too close to the Ryan announcement, which may have pulled a little of Romney's bounce. But even with that being said, his likeability has gone up quite a bit since the RNC.
Obama's guys are already saying he is likely to get a marginal or no bounce out of tyhe DNC. Should be interesting to see what happens to his likeability numbers after all these shinanegans. "The next person to say shenanigans....."
If that's how they're thinking, then I propose that we make JFK an *Honorary Republican ......
"Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country"
"...the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state ..."
That'll flip their lids for sure.

Would the idea of banning corporate profits amaze you?
Delegates to the Democratic National Convention think it is a good idea.

The problem is that there's more stupid people in the USA than smart folks, and they vote.
We shall very soon be headed into hardcore socialism or armed revolution.

The phrase useful idiots comes to mind.
When you look at some of the folks that vote and who are, in fact, politically active, we are in some deep shit, no doubt.

I am trying to be an optomist, and hope that people recognize what this election is truly about, us taking care of ourselves, or the government taking care of us, and all the strings that are attached in doing so.
I have to hope, that with Obama not being able to get past the 50% mark in polls, even the polls that are outrageously scewed to the dems favor, that we still have reason to be optomistic that Romney will be the next POTUS.
But that is only half the battle. Making sure that he has a Congress that understands the dire situation we are in, and maybe taking what some call "draconian" measures to get us back on the correct path.

It is hard to be optimistic when you have Democratic delegates openly expressing a desire to kill Mitt Romney.

However, when Gallup declined to change its polling methodology, the Obama administration’s Justice Department revived a 2009 whistle-blower lawsuit against the firm by joining the suit, a senior Gallup official alleges.Axelrod, you da man.

I didn't trust myself to watch (value my flat screen especially now that football season has started). Just when I think they can stoop no lower they always do. Would be amusing if it wasn't so frightening.:(
When was the last time there was an election that somone was not saying we have to take our country back? I use to say to myself from who? I always thought it was our country, but not anymore. The clock is ticking, there may be more stupid people in America than smart people as TS stated but I believe that the sensible people far out number the not so sensible ones and come Nov. we the people will be heard. I interact every day with hard working middle class Americans and I gotta say that 99.9% do not support the POTUS, in fact O will be within two miles of where I work tomorrow and I have yet to speak to anyone who is going to see him, keep the faith!!

Good point. MOO, but I think the respondents in the video do understood the general significance of the question - and their response. With no evidence to the contrary, it is entirely reasonable to believe that these adults meant what they said.
The fact that the folks attending THE convention (in this YouTube age) did not qualify the question...so as to define a difference...surely gives me concern.
One of the responses in the video - to the "we belong to the government" inquiry responded that we are "citizens" so, naturally, we belong to the government was particulalry disturbing. That is quite the opposite of my understanding of this nation's relationship with its citizenry.
Yes, these folks in the video could just be the fringe loons that got on camera...or they could represent thier party...or both.
The more I see, the more I want to be wrong...but I believe that left wing loons have infiltrated...no...dominate - much of today's Democratic Party.
Has Nancy Pelosi herself not made equally ridiculous statements?
I wonder if these folks are the loons or the new norm? I wonder if it really is a distortion when one listens to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid...and many, many, others.
This is not the Democratic Party of our mothers and fathers.

Take it back from who? All those sensible people running around both conventions wooing and ahhing at a bunch of empty worded speeches and jumping up and down like their Team scored a touchdown at the Super Bowl.
These conventions are in the same ridiculous spectacle of a category as Dancing with the Stars. And like survivor we have voted everyone else off the Island and we already which liars captured the flag. No matter which Huckster wins in November, I guarantee you it won't be long before the winner reneges campaign promises and major disappointment sets in on those that Believed the hype.
Those people that buy into that Side Show truly belong to the party and the Government.....
I'll pull the lever for Romney with the expectation that I won't be taking anything back, Romney will fall WAY, WAY short of accomplishing anything, he will renege on 97% of his campaign benchmarks but he won't take things quite as far as O.
And the only reason I am voting for Romney is because I really don't like the current cesspool that occupies the reigns of power....otherwise I'd probably be sitting this one out cause it is little more than Fettucinni Linguini Martini Bikini....are you following me camera guy.
Here's my bet if anyone is willing to take me up on it.
If Obama wins, it will be by the thinest of margins.
If Romney wins, it will be in a landslide.
Is this supposed to represent an entire party? The entire party is filled with "sheeple" that are completely different than the people in the Republican party?
How can we get a clear picture of what's going on if all we do as look at one side of the coin? Liberals and Conservatives have stepped up the opposition ad hominems to the point that we can't stand to analyse someone with a different view.

Perhaps it is not the lack of analysis...but the audacity of analysis that is causing some concern.
IMO, the analysis of statements by both parties and their representatives is taking place - ad nauseam - on a daily basis.
The stark difference in many perspectives illustrated by representatives of both major political parties could not be more distinct. Perhaps, the illustration of these vastly different perspectives provide clarity for some and confusion for others.
I truly hope that everyone finds clarity - time is running short.
Despite what we hear - the national debt is nearly out of control and cheap contraception is available - for all - on nearly every corner where there's a Wallgreens, CVS, Walmart, Target, Planned Parenthood, local clinic, medical center, etc., etc., etc., ...and no one running for president wants to take it away.
The priorities of both major party's are abundantly clear - notwithstanding the daily displays of foolishness by some representatives of both major parties.

I guess the primary difference here is the institutional changes that are taking place under this administration and the fact that we haven't had a President so openly hostile to the Constitution since perhaps Wilson or perhaps FDR.

Clint Eastwood calls President Obama ‘greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people’.
The intention of his speech, Eastwood said, was threefold.
“That not everybody in Hollywood is on the left, that Obama has broken a lot of the promises he made when he took office, and that the people should feel free to get rid of any politician who’s not doing a good job,” he told the Carmel Pine Cone.
“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people,” Eastwood continued. “Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle......
It was supposed to be a contrast with all the scripted speeches, because I’m Joe Citizen,” Eastwood added. “I’m a movie maker, but I have the same feelings as the average guy out there.”

Some may find the word "hoax" too harsh, I am not one.
