She has taken my heart!

I'm not much on conventions but am loving what I'm seeing...a focus and purpose to defeat a threat.
For a party that supposedly hates women so much, there are certainly a lot of them that showed up at the RNC. Lovin the speakers. Let's go Mitt!!!!&

Yeah, and their main subject is the economy, moving fwd, the opportunity in this Country.....not abortion opportunities or free birth control.

I think you are correct ---
I will make a contribution tonight :D

Ludmya “Mia” B. Love
If you haven’t heard of Ludmya “Mia” B. Love before, you will be hearing a lot more about her. Mia has the potential to be the next big thing in conservative politics. And you heard about her here first!
Mia is the American-born daughter of Haitian immigrants, mother of three children, served on the PTA, city council and now is Mayor of Sarotoga Springs, Utah. She is an avid runner and shooter, and I’m sure the readers will love this tidbit:
She has a concealed carry permit and often packs a gun. Her husband introduced her to shooting on their first date. His first gift to her was a rifle.
She’s also recently announced that she’s running for Congress in the newly created 4th District of Utah.
Mia she needs to raise funds pretty quickly to catch up with her competitors, to get her message out to Utah delegates, and to build the infrastructure for a primary race and general election. .

It's bright shining stars like Mia, that give me true hope... I missed her speech, thanks for sharing TS.
I have been doing a little reading at some of the liberal newspapers websites, LA Time, San Fran, etc... and to say I am a little surprised at what I read is an understatement.
Even they were saying how effective last nights speeches were, especially Artur Davis, Gov from SC, and most effective of all..... Ann Romney.

I think Ann Romney did a great job and was "miffed" to say the least, at Juan Williams "corporate wife" comment. Christie resonated with me as well. I didn't get all caught up in how far into his speech he was before mentioning Romney. I only caught these two speeches. I will have to hunt down Artur Davis's.
I hope the electorate give Romeny/Ryan a chance.
Afchic -- appreciate the direct to Artur Davis. A solid speech indeed. I have posted it below for those who may have not had an opportunity to listen to it.

I was pretty impressed with her during the 2008 election cycle when she was running, literally, for Mayor of Saratoga Springs, UT.
For those that don't know, her parents immigrated from Haiti (legally).
Art Davis was excellent...especially his prior Dem creds and being the 2nd individual to verbally endorse the selection of Obama at the 2008 DNC....his then and now was perfect.

I though he gave a terrible speech. I agree wholeheartedly about the symbology of his speaking and the message it conveyed. Disambiguated and rambling as it was not withstanding...
Apparently the Grand Wizards over at MS-KKK decided that it was too dangerous for their viewers (all seven of them) to see a Democrat or any person 'of color' speaking at the RNC that they switched to commentary instead.
So what is the definition of 'racist' again?

What the heart thinks, the mind can feel. It's all relative to them.

I think Ann Romney did a great job and was "miffed" to say the least, at Juan Williams "corporate wife" comment.Williams is of zero consequence; it just gave him an excuse to write another article explaining himself. (http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/08/29/ann-romney-me-and-her-convention-speech/) He's nothin' - movin' on.
Political terms or not, there's just a little actual executive experience here. (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/08/29/list-republican-convention-speakers-for-wednesday/)

Wellllllll...
According to a report by Red Alert Politics, the network cut the speeches — all of which were given by minorities — during its broadcast of the event.
However, Mediaite cautions, the coverage MSNBC gave to the speeches was similar to the coverage given to the same speeches by different networks.
According to Mediaite, Love's speech was replaced by commercials on MSNBC and Shepard Smith's coverage of Hurricane Isaac on Fox. Sandoval's speech was replaced by hurricane coverage on MSNBC and an interview with Rep. Eric Cantor on Fox. Cruz's speech was replaced by a panel analysis of the convention on MSNBC, while Fox went to a commercial break and aired an interview with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Fortuno's speech was replaced on MSNBC with more roundtable discussion, while Fox cut to a Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly discussion.

...it may be related more to viewership, ratings, and the perceived value of the political celebrity status of the speakers to those ends than with their race, sex, or political affiliation. I wonder how it'll all go tonight.
And so it goes...

I enjoyed the speeches I was able to watch, I really like Ann Romney...thought she did a great job of introducing herself and Mitt to the audience.
It looks like the left didn't appreciate Mia Love's speech...

It's the first salvo in an attempt to tear down someone the Left is truly afraid of. It starts small, by some anonymous coward, but will grow as her popularity grows. The next attacks will probably be more subtle...
I didn't like Pawlenty or Portman's speeches much. Just proved to me why they were not picked for VP. Their jokes were awful, and they just sounded like, well, Obama and his whining about the other guy.
Then came Condi, and she ROCKED THE HOUSE. I swear that woman could sell ice to eskimos. The fact that it took so long for the crowd to stop cheering so she could start her speech said a lot.
INMO Paul Ryan knocked it out of the park. He hit the right tone, in that he was able to smack down the President's policies without smacking down the man. He was funny, and that didn't seem fake. Loved the quip about the difference between Romney and his IPOD playlists. His discussions on his upbrining really humanized him. He addressed the issues the Dems have been trying to demonize him for, and I think may have won over some independents that were sitting on the fence.
Now if Romney can do as well as Ann and Ryan....

Now if Romney can do as well as Ann and Ryan....Concur from what I did glance at, understanding there's a designed dramatic build-up ( the theater at any convention) - was busy relaying in a boat to someone with a phone patch & got focused on that. Took a look at the transcripts this AM.
Perhaps biased from being more familiar with Secretary Rice and Mr. Ryan than the megaphones of the Chicago organizing commieunity. Their transcripts taken without having the video are good reads and serve final notice on the current tyrants. Both of them are knowledgeable and articulate enough to have pulled that off with a few 3x5 cards retrieved from a cargo pocket. (Whoever's in charge of prepping the current VP for debates just ordered a case of Maalox...)
In terms of what they wanted to achieve by last night's agenda I'd say well done.
Agree afchic. I actually thought Condi sounded...presidential. She gave a great speech as did Ryan. I was very pleased and look forward to tonight.
