Shock poll: Obama could lose Illinois, Romney leads in Chicago suburbs

President Barack Obama could lose his home state of Illinois in November, a new poll shows.

A poll conducted by Illinois-based pollster and political strategist Michael McKeon found Obama leading Republican Mitt Romney by 49 percent to 37 percent in Cook County, the home of Chicago. That puts him ahead by a far thinner margin than expected in a county he should be winning handsomely.

Cook is the most Democratic leaning county in the state. It is also the most populous.

Those numbers do not bode well for the president.

I hope Romney takes at least 50 of the 57 states. ;)

The only area Obama has locked-in, voter-wise, is DC. Business is booming in that AO.

This revelation coupled with the Time article give me a warm and fuzzy. ;)

That would be excellent if Cook County didn't ruin it for the rest of IL for once.

That would be excellent if Cook County didn't ruin it for the rest of IL for once. Many states have that dynamic, a major metro area full of "diversity" that skews the rest of the demographic in a given state. 2 or 3 counties here do that, in what is a moderately conservative state geographically. There's Madison (which unlike Chicago IS the state capital) and there's Milwaukee, with those heathen conservatives next door to them in Brown County.

Just ask kids what's the capital of NY or CA...

:rolleyes:They better say the capitols are Albany and Sacramento.
As for the article, a 12 point lead is a lot. I don't expect to see Mitt.
(Cards were down 10 games for the Wild Card this time last season and I got a picture of me taken next to the trophy) So it does happen.
Just not for the Cubbies. Sorry. Hahahahahaha

They better say the capitols are Albany and Sacramento.I don't use spell-check for excuses; but on the fly I'll submit that 'a' is the seat of government, 'o' is the actual Capitol building in DC. None of which really matters because....

So it does happen.
Just not for the Cubbies. Sorry. HahahahahahaAnd beers to you as well, amigo. :D
Did I mention the Cubs started 2013 Spring Training about 10 weeks ago?

Meh, history repeats itself, the political machines in IL, NY, MA, CA, DE and others will wait for all precincts to report before rousing enough deceased, pets and squirrels in Central Park to hand BHO the win.

Normally, I'd agree with you 100 percent.

Even the dimwits are tired of his BS, now, though.
