Obama Camp We Are “Intentionally” Limiting Crowd Size At Events’
On August 19, 2012, in news, politics, by velvethammer
Translation: Obama flock is dwindling.
(NY Times) –We have plenty of time for big rallies,” a campaign spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, said between the rallies on Thursday. “Our focus right now is on exciting our supporters and winning over undecided voters and the smaller and medium-size events are the best venue to accomplish that because the president can closely engage with the crowd.”
Big rallies are expensive, especially given the logistical and security challenges for a president as opposed to a mere United States senator. And Obama campaign operatives, both at the Chicago headquarters and in swing states where Mr. Obama recently has stumped, say the campaign intentionally limits crowds by restricting tickets. The reason is to allow the president to better connect with supporters, aides say.

lol Thank you for that link. Made my day.
That's the lamest rationalization I've heard since I tried to justify my obesity by convincing myself I was in sumo training.

This IS good news! They can dress this up any way they like, it still come out the same; less support. The MSM will spin everything they can to support their chosen one, obama. Let us hope it plays out for a loss for the "anointed one " in November.

Not only that, but they can also limit the chances for perhaps warranted, but definately unwanted hecklers shouting out over the presidents speech.

Barry's so full of it, his eyes are . . . .
nevermind.
I liked the comments on the blog. Nothing like "yeah, you tell em!"
His campaign says they're saving the big rallys for later and this blogo says "nah uh, no one will come" then calls them liars.
I swear, if this is the best the Republican Party can come up with then we have fallen far from the party that elected Ronald Reagan.
I swear, if this is the best the Republican Party can come up with then we have fallen far from the party that elected Ronald Reagan.Agreed.
The right is starting to sound like the left in 2004 -- losing sight of the big picture and eschewing opportunities to make an affirmative arguments without using negative reference points so that it can glare myopically at the tea leaves scattered across the blogosphere.
Agreed.

Long as the next Prez is Romney, I don't care if they start reading chicken bones. :D
Long as the next Prez is Romney, I don't care if they start reading chicken bones. :DMOO, Romney's victory will mean little if the GOP doesn't also find a way to change the tone of politics. Without such a change, the game of finger pointing and kicking the can will continue.
YMMV.

Don't you think the change of tone will naturally happen once the blatant attempts at socializing the Country cease? I do.
The current divider-in-chief has set the tone for his camp - and they have set the bar so low it has no where to go but up.
Please, does anyone but a true sympathizer really think that Obama and his minions have been civil? Or that they have been anything but truly divisive?
Wasserman-Shultz makes Coulter look positively cuddly and intelligent.
R&R will set a decidedly different tone than Obama and Biden...if one can't see that even over just the past week or so...

"Slash and burn" has been the name of the game for almost twenty years. Momentum like that won't stop just because of one election.

In fact, what I think will happen is the Dims will take their cue from the Republicans and more specifically the TeaPartiers and engage in the same obsrtuctions.
Going back a few years and speaking from my own experience: I was not to thrilled that (or how) GWBII was elected president. I was worried by his activisit Vice President, dismayed by his confusion about the location of AQ (Afghanistan and Iraq), alarmed that the Military - who had just won the war in Iraq - was ignored when it came to winning the peace and creeped out by secret meeting with oil companies over government policy etc etc. . .
But, I didn't fight the fact that he was the President nor did I doubt that what he was doing was in the best interest of the country as he saw it. I never stopped hoping he was right.
I can say without equivication that has not been the policy of the Republican Party and especially the TeaPartiers.
(Where the heck is my tin-foil hat . . . OH here it is! I'll go so far as to say that was the plan all along -- considering the Presidential and Vice President they ran in 2008)
And, Dusty, Where exactly will we be then?
Could this be why crowds have dwindled?
Could this be why crowds have dwindled?
Football season has "kicked off"... ;)
