I sent my DD214 to Roxanne on July 10. I have not heard anything back regarding the authorization. I sent a follow up email last week and got no response.

Is this normal? Did it take everyone else who ordered this long to get an authorization?

Yes, Rox is not the approving authority...she gathers the paperwork and sends it to SWC and whatever active officer has been delegated this duty.
They approve it and send it back to her to write up an approval letter.
Took me months and I have the letter but never purchased a knife....honestly speaking, just don't need another knife to put on the wall.

That probably explains the delay. Anytime you add an SWCS officer to the mix, $h!t is bound to get screwed up. :D

It was the Chief of Staff's Secretary who did the authorization letter, back when I was there. I am pretty sure it has since changed.

Roxanne is the Museum Curator, and IIRC, has nothing to do with the knife process.

Betty is in charge of the Museum Gift Shop. When the paper is signed, she will be the one who actually orders and sells the knife.

Unless you are a Warrant Officer. Then the process takes an extra 20 years. :D

I am definitely screwed. :o

Actually, I got an email from Roxanne today. She is on it and should have my authorization letter this week. Thanks for the info and the help. ;)

The Command has passed the authority to Roxanne. I just went through this last April for a friend of mine. She is it!! SWCS has to order them, but she handles all of the rest.

I think you jinxed me. :o

Still no authorization letter. Roxanne is still working on it. :( I'd really like to get one of these. Maybe I'll have to pay big $$$ for one of those unauthorized sales. :munchin

Back in April, they (The Bookstore) only had a few left!! I'll touch base with the Reeves on Monday and get backatch'ya. Roxanne may be waiting on a delivery!! The Reeves have about a 4-6 month backlog and they are producing around 1200 Folders per month plus a bunch of Fixed Blades. Trust me, it will be well worth the wait!!
