Just had a visit (heh site survey) by Ricky Mills a retired SF CPT out of tenth. His company Wild Jaeger wildjaeger.com is going to set up a wounded warrior White Tail hunt at my property on 17-19 Nov 2012. They are going for 2 possibly 3 wounded warriors out of Ft Drum possibly.
If you want to stop by and help out, hunt, or just swing by and talk with the guys that come out to hunt give me a shout.
Location Western New York, about 55 miles East of Niagra falls.

Outstanding.
If you end up with more interest than can be met, there's another group that hosts wounded vets on hunts too. The Laguna Vista Ranch in Texas in conjunction with HuntingBrotherHood.com and other groups pool resources and have hosted hunts for several years. If you know a wounded vet that would like a hunt for all sorts of game in TX pm me and we'll link you up.

Ok, the weekend is finally here. First staff member from Wild Jaeger will arrive today, with out wounded warriors arriving Friday afternoon. A short horse mounted scouting trip before dark tonight, followed by a few cold ones down at the local VFW. Ground blinds have been set in awhile now, with a 8 point spotted a week ago 75 feet from my barn. Should be a good weekend.
Good luck to the guys doing the hunting.
A big "Job well done" for the folks who set it up and are doing the heavy lifting.

Started early this morning with the scouting trip, not able to night previous. Saw two does on way to the Northern area they plan on hunting. On way back, slowed near a pond and 20' from our horses was an 8 point, who apparently could care less about horses. Returned to base, very pleased with scouting trip. Rest of group arrived, local LEO's arrived in their new up armored humvee from Ft Drum, they gave our wounded warrior, hats, t-shits, and very cool packs. Good talk, with our wounded warriors telling them the weak spots in their ride.
Received a three bay crock pot of, split pea, chili and white beans and ham soups from the local St Mary's athletic club. Dinner was good.
A short evening walk with our warrior, spotting a Doe 100m into the walk... beer thirty.
The wounded warrior Frank has never harvested a deer and is feeling ready!
Time for bed, let you know how opening day goes.
