I'm sure the uniforms are just meant to be a "symbol of unity, a symbol of ... excellence, a symbol of our values."
The DADT Beret looks like crap on those individuals.
The DADT Beret looks like crap on those individuals.
Pussified uniforms to symbolize a now pussified nation.
Sad.

They look ready to help you with your bags as you board the cruise ship.
Can someone set up a beret class for those kids?
Are you sure that those are not wool shower caps?

the disgusting part of this whole fiasco is that I have to agree with Harry Reed and that makes me throw up in my mouth a little.
remember when the athletes came out wearing a red white and blue track suit that probably cost about $20.
why do they need a suit and tie now?

1. Congress needs to spend it's time doing it's job, not worrying about what the US Olympic Team is wearing. I'm outraged at Congress and request that they be burned at the stake!
2. If they want them burned then they should pay for replacements out of their own pockets, and cough up the dollars to replace the sponsorship dollars that Ralph Lauren has given to the US Olympics.

I'm cool with that - but lets assess them a 100% assets carbon tax first.

Oh, ok, trackin'. We can charge them first, we'll find out what's in them later, after they've passed.

Made in China huh? Watch when those uniforms come apart after one cycle in the washing machine. :p
Might as well be made there though. What's made in this country anymore? I received a nice Barlow style pocket knife from the NRA and where was it made? Friggin' China!
I guess no one remembers the outrage over "Made in Japan" labels not long after the war with Japan.
I don't care where they were made, I'd still burn them. ;) At best, if the athletes are smart, they will yank off the berets and wave them at the spectators as they pass in review.

I keep looking at that picture and wondering if a panel of senior Army officers and NCOs didn't have a hand in deciding the design of those ugly-assed uniforms.
Well, those are the parade uniforms.........
Here are the work uniforms for the bikers.

That would explain the ugly-a$$ Ice-cream Man suit i just spent $75 to tailor. Apparently, the new blue uniform was just practice. Sheesh.
Why does it seem that the French might have designed those uniforms. They'd look great on them.

The picture above is fairly small leaving out some of the detail. The uniforms have the oversized Ralph Lauren polo logo on the blazers. Seems over the top to me.
The pic is of the USA Olympic Team entering the stadium in Beijing at the opening ceremonies of the last Olympics.
Personally, I think it's a nice, traditional looking olympic team uniform similar to what has been worn by many teams for decades.
As far as crises go - meh...
And so it goes...

What teams (high school, college, pro, etc) haven't been wearing uniforms with the manufacturer's logo prominently on them for the past 20 years? Even very traditional Notre Dame, has them on their uniforms.

What I really hate about it is you don't wear green tabs on them. I sewed them on my greens and the old field jackets.

College teams wear logos on uniforms and their programs and coaches get some big money. Logos on Olympic uniforms just seems out of place. Although, I think one year Levis did the uniforms and they may have included their small Levis tag. But oversized Polo logo? Just seems in bad taste to me.

Let's see - Nike swoosh, Speedo, Adidas, Visa, etc., on official Olympics athletic gear for decades. That 'horse' left the barn long ago.

Unlike most other countries, the USA does not maintain or support a PAID Olympic team. PR with manufacture's LOGO's is one way to keep them in the so called "non-professional" status with free uniforms..
I do not advocate for or against State Run Professional Sports Teams, but even it we did you would have Professionals with LOGO's..
Richard is correct, they have had their TAG in every Olympic ports for years..
My bitch is the Che inspired beret.. But even that dead bastard has logo problems..

You're right. I guess I'm just used to seeing nike swooshes on jerseys etc. Not used to the giant polo logo.

http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2012/07/16/china-calls-us-hypocritical-for-olympic-team-uniform-controversy/?test=latestnews
Xinhua snarkily suggested that all U.S. lawmakers should perhaps be banned from "wearing anything or using any product" that was made abroad — a near-impossible restriction in today's globalized economy.
Xinhua singled out U.S. Senate majority leader Harry Reid, who had called for the uniforms to be piled up and burned.
"If there is anything that should be burned, it should really be the hypocrisy of the U.S. politics," it said according to The Associated Press.

Before getting any more upset with Team USA's parade uniform, this image that Spain's Pau Gasol posted on FB a few minutes ago gives a hint of how bad things may get tonight.
