Part of it, JJ. Can't lower property values any worse than accidental SCUBA deaths. Can I come hang out for the duration? ;) Good luck!

Only 9 inches in my AO as of this morning, and it started raining again.
Only one not complaining is the FL. Div. of Forestry!!! ;-)))

Funny thing about that model they were using, originally it was slated to go due west, but instead it did a 180 degree turn and went almost due east...... Being a weatherman is the only job I know where you can be 100% wrong and still keep your job..........:p

So far it's been a pussy cat around here... Indian Rocks Beach, FL, on the Gulf of Mex. just south of Clearwater Beach. It been sunny all day without a drop of rain all day.:D

Southern California didn't get 9 inches iof rain all season... The hills are brown and crispy, ready for the next pyro to throw a cigarette into the brush.

We had plenty of rain in the past 48 hours here in Safety Harbor. Our fence was blown down, part of the palm in the front fell and had to pump about 4 inches out of the pool; otherwise all is well. However last night was a little tense when the local news tracked a wind shear that came on shore at Terra Verde and tracked through St Pete and passed right over us here in Safety Harbor. They were reporting wind shear in excess of 90 mph and thus issued tornado warnings and as a result, I put my girls in the safe closet. Thankfully all went well, but there was a storm related death east of Tampa yesterday.

I'm in Largo, today was insane* torrential downpour for 10-15 mins followed by 45 mins of calm almost every hour on the hour.

Word is Passe Grille is pretty devastated.

Debby was a pussy cat compared to Elena which sat 75 miles out in Gulf for days and wreaked havoc on the TB area back in '85.

The only death in Florida that I've heard of was down in Venus which is down by Lake Okee...a mother who was found dead clutching her 3 yo daughter..they were pulled out of their mobile home by a Tornado. Tornadoes are attracted to
Mobile home parks....It must be the aluminum!!

About 10 years ago, while playing golf on a hole that doglegged around a lake, the guy I was riding in the cart with hit his tee shot into the left rough, and I hit mine to the right near the edge of the lake. He got out of the cart, looked at his ball (in a drainage ditch) and quickly retreated....the ball was inches away fro three unhappy moccasins! He hit another ball and we rode over to where my ball was, only to find it inches from the front end of an 7-8 ft gator sunning on the bank.

On the next hole, my buddy tees off and hit a rather low drive which hit a White Ibis standing on the fairway about 175 yards from the tee, square between the eyes.

On the following hole (a par 3) my ball landed about 2 1/2 ft from the pin, and then while approaching the green I got to watch it get stolen by a raccoon!

The fun wasn't over quite yet! A few holes later the steering linkage on the cart falls of and we wind up in a a soggy drainage ditch with a not too happy water moccasin...we called the clubhouse to rescue us, after a pissed of employee towed us out and blamed us for reckless driving, we decided to call it quits.

At least the beer in the clubhouse was ice cold, plentiful , and free (courtesy of the head pro). He also gave us a pass for free round, but we never returned to that course again:D

25 yrs ago, that sounded like every course in South Florida.

We would take the EU and Aussie business visitors out and scaring the Shiite out of them. :D:eek::eek::D

Sounds like all of my round at East Lake Woodlands; had a number of encounters with gators and snakes. :D

That would be nice - but when skewered on a green stick or cleaning rod and held over an open fire, roasting is easier. ;)
