I miss Ms Darwish's leap in logic there.

The Egyptian news reported that Egyptian immigrants "living in the West" (not just the US) voted 75% in favor of the EB candidate in the primary election...and then jumps to conclude that the EB vote by Egyptian immigrants living in the US "could have reached over 95%" in the recent elections whose results are as yet unknown. :confused:

The VoA did exit polling at the Egyptian consulates in America and reported that, although many were not really happy with either choice, the majority of votes here were being cast for the non-EB candidate. Who knows.

The announcement of the results by the Egyptian elections officials have been delayed - and the Army has now inserted itself into the situation.

It seems to me as if the current state of Egyptian politics is like playing "Calvin Ball" (for any who remember that one) and attempts to make such claims at this point seem kinda far-fetched.

Many of them live in the US - and many more in Egypt are voting with their feet.
