Looks damn nice. Just a little perspective from a lefty who hasn't held it; it appears you have a relief cut for thumb stud access for righties, it would be nice to see it cut for ambi use for us lefties and for those time when you're hanging on to something with your right hand and trying to manipulate the thumb stud with your left.

Also some thoughts on pocket clips. My knives inevitably get snagged on door framed, ladders, seat belts, and other things, this tends to bend and loosen the pocket clip and it is often difficult to bend it back completely to original.* As long as I am wearing jeans or thicker material for pants they all seem to hold ok after being bent slightly. If however I am wearing dressier pants or other thinner material my knives tend to become loose. I have found that pocket clips with U shaped bends like sog twitch, and darrel ralphs pockets clips are much more forgiving than those that are straight mounted.*I have managed to bend even titanium flat clips enough to cause issues.* The*U bend design can depending on*mounting and dimensions*drop the knife too low into the pocket causing difficulty with retrieval.* I have not had experience with heavier machined clips like the reeve mnandi uses or some other custom makers use, but they may also be a viable alternative to*straight thin*clips.

Great looking blade. I, too, like the arrow. Now I have to figure out how to sneak (another) one of your knives into the house.

The Spartan guys really did their homework to make this happen. Very well done.

About the left handed opening thing, hold your thoughts on it until you've handled it.

You get what you pay for, and you pay for what you get. The quality of a Spartan Knife is worth the price.

Very nice looking blade! Really like the arrow on the clip.

At BLADE the most heard comment was "So you guys used bearings?", it's is a very smooth action with good detents. As for the clip, if you hold it properly it makes a good North seeking arrow:D:cool:

UPDATE: We are just finishing parts for first batch. Hope to be shipping and have up for sale in about 2 - 3 weeks. We are about 4 weeks behind our planned schedule. Price should be $445 in G10 and $490 in carbon fiber.

Had a chance to handle some of the pre-production knives in Vegas. Guys, let me tell you, these are fantastic knives. They look cool, feel great, and the mechanics are right on.

Mark and Curtis, you should be very proud of these knives. Excellent work and congratulations, gentlemen.

Awesome looking blade. $445 is a little salty for this E-6. Got a lot of things on the want/need list for my next trip, but this isn't going to survive the wife's Sr Rater review. Keep up the awesome work though.

Just got an update from Mark this morning, parts are out for coating! Looking at 2 weeks (probably 3-4 with inevitable delays:p MOO). As stated before, I finger F*#ed this knife at BLADE and I personally think it is one of the finest folders that I've ever handled. The fact that Mark and Curt are class acts is only a bonus:cool:

May take you up on that recommendation once these hit the shelves. I'm finishing graduate school and this looks like a nice way to commemorate.

A Horkos folder would be a perfect match to my brand new Horkos. :D

Can I just have my direct deposit sent to you guys and receive knives on the first and 15th of every month?

About the left handed opening thing, hold your thoughts on it until you've handled it.

A few initial impressions.
The spartan guys left enough gap between the thumb stud and frame/scale to let it be opened fairly easily. The right side opening is a little easier with the additional relief, but the left hand opening is quite adequate. Fit and finish are great as expected. Action is smoother than any other folder I've used. Lock up is solid with no perceivable movement.

The Spartan Blades guys are wearin' it out, lately. Their Akribis folder is featured in the July '13 issue of Tactical Knives magazine with a big centerfold photo. I could not find a picture or link of said photo. (Apparently my google-fu is weak and pitiful.)

Anyway.... Congratulations mcarey and Mildot!!

How much slave labor would you require to equal the price of this specimen?

Wanted to reward my son for his dedication and hard work. I offered many rewards. He chose to drive two hours and picked this.

Think I raised a good chooser...

Since they would calculate wages at about fifty cents an hour and you have to reduce that by half for taxes.... the rest of your life...

(kidding... it's only about 10 years using the formula above :p)
