Big Teddy, I respect you, I really do.......and Lord knows I'm probably more of a dumbass than she is.....but I really think if you're married to a guy who sucks at his job that you don't deserve to be called a marxist dumbass. I dislike his management style and leadership philosophies so much that I can't even stand to look at him on TV, but I don't think his wife deserves this.

YMMV....don't want a feud with you....just sayin'......

Orion, she is a Marxist Dumbass, just read about her background and some of her statements.

She has been trying to put lipstick on her background, but it will not wash. She hated the US and is a Marxist Socialist. Thus she is a Dumbass. :munchin

Might want to do a little research. One of her personal mentors is Bernardine Dohrn, for starters.

"For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country...not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change." -Michelle Obama, February 18, 2008, at a speech in Madison, Wisconsin.

If Laura Bush or another conservative woman had said this, a media firestorm would've naturally ensued...

In trying not to disparage Big Teddy I may not have worded my post clearly. My point was that I thought this forum of professional soldiers was driving to a higher standard than that. This was based on the vibe I got from reading a majority of the old posts from 2004 to present. I would imagine the rage of many conservatives if Nancy Reagan or Barbara Bush or their children were mocked in a similar fashion while their husbands were serving.

As we get closer to the election, the frustration on here with the direction of the current administration is palpable. With all the thousands of people who log on here from the "outside" or view the discussions as guests, isn't this forum an opportunity for y'all to influence and inspire and instruct? Private FB pages or emails seems to be a better location for this type of venting, IMHO.

I'm not a fan of the FLOTUS or anything she promotes so my post was not intended to imply "Hey, everyone, she's not that bad, give her a break." Instead, it seemed to me this was not an appropriate place to mock a standing FLOTUS.

Thanks for the feedback. I respect that some have different opinions and I definitely meant no disrespect to Big Teddy.

Agreed (though I can only speak from a grateful civilian's perspective). One of the cardinal virtues of statesmanship and political civility should always be to leave the family members of politicians out of the discourse, unless they are somehow relevant to it. My quoting of Michelle Obama was to call into question her judgement in saying that she wasn't proud of her native country until her husband began his run for the Presidency. I thought it was a highly inappropriate remark, especially since she was a prospective First Lady at the time. Now that she is the current holder of that title, the general expectation of her should be to serve as a model for American women by, among other things, being active in issues surrounding the family and charitable causes.

Now, whether or not women approve of the job she is doing in that regard is an entirely different matter...:munchin
