SENATOR REID BLOCKS BAN ON BILLIONS in Illegal Immigrant Tax Credit Loophole

UPDATE On: Millions of illegal immigrants are getting a bigger tax refund than you. Eyewitness News shows a massive tax loophole that provides billions of dollars in tax credits to undocumented workers and, in many cases, people who have never stepped foot in the United States.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) blocked a move to bring the Child Tax Credit Integrity Preservation Act (S577) to the floor. The bill that would close an IRS tax credit loophole that allows the IRS to funnel over $4 billion to illegal immigrants was held up by Senator Reid , and in doing so, assured that those working in this country illegally will continue to receive billions of your tax dollars in IRS refunds.

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee, has been vocal in his disdain for the blatant misuse of taxpayer monies.

In a press release, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) who co-sponsored S577, stated: “I’m disappointed that the Majority Leader objected to our effort today to prevent billions in tax credits from being wrongly sent to illegal immigrants claiming they have dependents, many of whom do not live in the US. This should not be a partisan issue: it is wrong for the government to use Americans’ tax dollars to directly subsidize illegality, especially at a time when our nation is spending so much money we don’t have.”

Sessions also pointed out that the $4 billion being given to illegal aliens by way of the tax credit loophole is “roughly the same amount the President proposes to raise annually by instituting the new Warren Buffett Tax.”
So, for now illegal aliens will continue to get billions in tax refunds for not only their own children, but in many cases for their nieces and nephews who still live in Mexico.

I heard this subject being discussed on the radio and it literally made me sick to my stomach at all the $$ that we are hemorraging.

This is the problem with a large federal government. If someone was trying to steal from your house, you would shoot him dead. But call it taxes, put in layers of bureaucracy and do it and it's OK. The personal connection is removed.

How are they even filing Taxes if they are here illegally. I could not claim my wife on Taxes until she got a temp ITN number and she was legal.

You don't need your own SSN you just need "A" SSN.

The IRS don't care if 20 people in 20 different locations are using the same SSN. They do link that little sheet they send to you once a year by Name and address so you only see what you have paid into your account.

If you ask how many people are using your number the IRS will not tell you - because of "Privacy".

Remember a few years back - the lady up in WA (IIRC). She was getting harassed by a collection agency. Somebody in another state was using her SSN and had skipped out on a loan. She tried to get the SS Administration to cough up the details and they refused because of privacy of the other individual.

"temp ITN number"

This number allows the IRS to take taxes from people without a SSN. It also allows them to claim dependents, get low income tax credits (which translates into getting more than you paid).

Congress should have to remove two laws from the books before they can add one new law. IMO it is impossible for one human to comply with all IRS laws.

This is the kind of info that makes for good campaign ads, the Republicans have got to run with this and hammer the dems with it. This election is Romneys and every other Republican who is running to lose.

This is where I am at. Why do we even call them "illegals"? Aren't they really "immigrants without legal papers who have better benefits than citizens"?

The word "illegal" means something to me.

If you are "illegal" you do not get a job.
If you are "illegal" you do not get paid.
If you are "illegal" you do not pay taxes.
If you are "illegal" you do not get tax refunds.
If you are "illegal" you do not get free education.
If you are "illegal" you do not get free healthcare.
If you are "illegal" you cannot rent or buy a place to live.
If you are "illegal" you are not able to open a bank account or any kind of account (utilities?) requiring a valid US ID.
If you are "illegal" you cannot get a credit card or establish credit.
If you are "illegal" you cannot vote.

With all of the rights and opportunities we've given "illegals", what's the point in being legal?

But as Billy L-bach always says, "It's probably just me...." I am sitting in my backyard with a glass of Woodford bourbon and a butterfly is trying to drink it. It appears this is not going to end well, but that's probably just my own naiveté..........

With all the talk about tax loopholes... this seems like a no-brainer to me.

Illegal immigrants could receive more than $7 billion this year in federal tax credits, according to one estimate, thanks to a loophole in the law that allows people not authorized to work to reap the government payments with no questions asked.
