I did stupid shit in HS too, I did some stupid shit the first year I was in the Army but I grew up. Did Obama even attend HS? Obama has spent his whole political career destroying anyone who dares to run against him. I do not think however that Romney is going to the pushover that Obama is used to running against.

So the Washington Post can investigate and find 5 people to talk about something that happened 47 years ago to a guy that died 8 years ago but, when it comes to the details of President Obama's past everyone's investigating skill disappear?

What a double standard. The media should be ashamed of itself.

The people of this Country as a whole should be ashamed for letting these "journalists" be so blatantly hypocritical.

Their resorting to pathetic bullshit like this article convinces me of the certainty of a GOP landslide victory in November, both electoral and popular.

I could never run for political office. Someone, somewhere would remember the off-color jokes I told in elementary school, and that would sink my campaign.

Not if you were the anointed one - then records would be sealed - and the media would ignore admissions that you made in books that you authored.

Your relationships with socialists and leftist radicals would be ignored.

You would be given a pass by the media.

And you would be given a security clearance.

There's a big difference between telling off-color joke and assaulting someone.:munchin

Agreed, wholeheartedly. With respect, IIRC I did many stupid things in K-12 that I hope would not be used as a basis to evaluate my character. Usually they involved the complex mathematical formula of:

1 boy = 1 brain
2 boys = 1/2 brain
3 boys = no brain at all

Followed usually by punishment of some sort, and a firm resolve never to repeat the behavior in question. Being a dad, I have a full logbook of documented proof of the above hypothesis.

Is this an example of that? Dunno. Obviously it was wrong. Nevertheless, I do know that I'm going to shut off the radio and TV for the next 7 months if this is where the election reporting is going.

1 boy = 1 brain
2 boys = 1/2 brain
3 boys = no brain at all. That's awesome! so a 12 boy A-Team can get away with any -- EVERYthing. (like corrupting the alterboy-Secret Service)
What's the difference between the Army and the Boy Scouts?
Scouts have adult supervision.

Seems the family of the individual portrayed as the victim is speaking out, and the story may be untrue. Seems they are not happy with the article.

Seems at present with a closer look, the story questionable.

The main source for this vignette is a former classmate of Romney’s named Stu White. According to the Washington Post: - Redstate
“White was not present for the prank, in which Romney is said to have forcefully cut a student’s long hair and was not aware of it until this year when he was contacted by the Washington Post.” _ABC

Some of the WaPo artcle statement makers seem to have changed their opinions of Romney.
