Plane crashes in Hoke County; passsengers parachute out safely

Not so much a crash as a forced landing.

"RAEFORD - It's usually bad news when a plane loses power during a flight.

But rarely do all the passengers have the good fortune to be wearing parachutes.

That's what happened Saturday around noon in Hoke County, when a single-engine, privately owned Cessna 206 carrying four skydivers suddenly had engine trouble around 1,100 feet................"

Hmmm. It had engine trouble in flight, but was able to taxi back to the airport.

Carb Ice?!?!

Could be. What ever it was, the pilot has some 'splaining to do.

What was the cause of your incident, AM?

Carb Ice?!?!

I doubt carb ice. I have never flown a 206 that had a carburetor and I have flown both the Lycoming and Continental Engine models.

Also, unlikely to pick up carb ice at 1,000 agl with full power.

I would suspect fuel management (ran a tank dry).
