Practical method of assessing the landscape from a very simple baseline. Although it doesn't have to be a "Waffle House" event but it works the same in a lot of areas.
Donut shop coordination points for restoration of power and telecom (The crews hit the closest place to get coffee and some gut-bombs... determine what areas the power guys are going to restore and the telco guys follow...)
Best thing about eating at a Waffle House is you can look out the window and see another Waffle House. :D

So there's no waffling about what to do next. :D

I'm certain that their modern web-enabled CONUS Resource & Recovery Assessment Program (CRRAP) came in wayyyyy under budget.
You can check it out here. (http://www.wafflehouse.com/component/content/article/10/165-waffle-house-restaurant-locator)

Do the Waffle House restaurants serve fried chicken with their waffles like Roscoe's?

Don't know about the South, but out here it's steaks and chops. I think they do have grilled chicken, though.
