We went down to Bragg for our son’s graduation from Q Course. He started this journey as an 18X a little over three years ago. The 18D and Arabic language courses really stretch the training out. It’s been a very long journey and the attrition rate has been exactly 80% from the time they started Infantry School to graduation. Only 5 of them made it to the end (or the beginning as it is more appropriate to call it)

The ceremony in celebration of 50 years of wearing the Green Beret, was very nice with Ross Perot dedicating a stature of JFK and Yarborough discussing the head gear. Each graduate had his named called and was handed his beret by Perot. They then returned to their seats with the beret in hand and on command put them on.

I think every Group should have had their Balls and Group ORG day/week around the week of 19 June.

I liked Perot pulling out COL Simons beret and his remarks he made. POWERFUL speaker!!

First of all, congratulations to both of you!!

Did Perot bring any of his employees along? Quite a few SF guys went to work for him after retiring...

Bob, congrats to you and your son. You must be very proud of his efforts and abilities.
What a great day that must have been.
The first day as a Special Forces soldier and he already has a unique experience to remember.

You have a right to be proud. I am amazed at Ross Perot every time he shows up. He is a true patriot.

Perhaps I should have made a post before we went down, but I was not expecting there to be any other parents from here.

I was fortunate enough to have been in the graduation. I'll never forget walking across that stage to shake Mr. Perot's hand. My 8 year old nephew could have played with the turret system in those 3rd Group vehicles all day. He may be the future soldier in my family, the booths in the back really impressed him!

My family missed out on brochures that were handed out during the graduation. We're also thinking there was some video footage available somewhere. Does anyone have a POC?

Thanks
