Who's got Rashad? 'Cause I'm taking Bones in the first round. :munchin
Just got offered tickets to the fight in ATL today. Unfortunately, I have family coming to visit that week.....needless to say, it made my day worse.:boohoo

Rashad looked really good in his last fight against Phil Davis. I don't think Bones finishes him in the first round. Rashad needs to take Bones into the deep waters of the 4th and 5th round.
Now, Sonnen vs. Silva in Brazil? That's the one I really want to see.

I have Bones in the 3rd. We'll see... ;)

Jones is the best fighter I've ever seen at that weight, and the only one I've ever thought could retire undefeated-even as young as he is. You have to admit, Rashad gets lucky a lot; luck is something Jones doesn't seem to need.
Chael's got into Spider's head, but the whole country of Brazil will be behind Silva. I think he'll pull off one of his unorthodox techniques and keep the belt.
Don't get me wrong, though-it would be too cool if Sonnen were able to tap him out...

After Jones totaly clears out that weight class and Silva his, I think that would be the fight to see at a catch weight or even 205 since Silva has fought there before. I've heard of a possible Silva vs. St. Pierre but St. Pierre fights at about 185 (fight day weight) and Silva over 200. It would be more realistic for Silva to go up then St. Pierre.

I'd like to see Silva fight Aldo, regardless of weight.

Dusty,
Do you think anyone (outside of Sonnen, who I still think can beat him) can realistically expect to beat Silva?
I think Sonnen showed that if you hit Silva hard, fast and continuously, and get him on the ground, he can get rattled. Of course, not rattled enough to forget how to do a triangle choke with less than a minute to go in the fight. :)
And yep, I'm a Chael Sonnen fan. I admit it.

Chris Weidman.

After watching Chris Weidman's highlights on YT, I concur. Good striker, better wrestler, and has good submissions. Again, I believe the key to beating Silva is getting him on the ground. Weidman looks like he is well suited to do that.

Only if a no holds barred match. Nut kicking allowed.

Aldo would take Spider's legs out, like he did to Faber.
Rashad went the distance, at least.
What surprised me was McDonald knocking out Torres. Hope Torres isn't on the "way out".

I was shocked that it went that far with Bones. I really thought it would it start out aggressive and heated, but that after things settled Bones would blast him in the 3rd and that'd be that. Wrong. Evans gave it hell. Gotta admire that.

I can't wait to see Silva/Sonnen 2. I really like Sonnen despite his issues outside of the cage. Either way, I'm sure it'll be a good fight.

I heard rumors that Bones said something about hoping to renew their friendship, privately, after the fight. WTF??? I realize there's a bond between boxers, just look at the Jake Lamotta and Sugar Ray Robinson. Those guys damn near killed each other, but Sugar Ray was the Raging Bull's best man at one of his weddings. I just can't see it going that way between Bones/Evans.

Yeah. Faber and The Decisionator Cruz are good pals, too. :D
lol Sonnen just said that he'd slap Spider's manager. Said he'd slap his wife on the ass, too, if she didn't cook his steak medium rare, just the way he likes it.
:D
I don't know. Sonnen's got his work cut out for him. He may not make it back from Brazil alive. :D

... Despite his criminal history and doping charges? lol I'm rooting for the guy too, but only because I can't stand Silva. In a perfect world, Sonnen beats Silva then gets his ass whipped by someone more respectable.

Criminal history, and doping charges in the UFC??? Say it isn't so.:D

Now, you're talkin'! I would love to see that! Especially if he went out there dressed up as Katy Perry and laid the smack down on him! :D

I might have to go watch the fight. Good way to to spend a saturday afternoon. Only $10 cover to get in the Hickam AFB club to watch the fights if you're not a member. Seems pretty reasonable to me. Not sure that I'd pay much more for a UFC fight..they can end pretty quick.

Usually good food too, at the dining facility and clubs....it is the USAF, afterall. I miss Hickam. I miss the chow (when we could sneak away to get it), my runs on the base, and swims off the runway.
I hate to say it, but Chael's gonna get pwned. First round.
Faber's gonna get waxed, too. He could beat Cruz, but this guy he's mixing it up with is baaaaaaaaaaaad.
already ordered it on xbox, cant wait

Speaking of Tim Kennedy, and so I don't start a new thread, anyone attending the Combatives Tourney this year? The semi-final round on the 27th is mandatory for my group.
Chael lost-bad. Tito lost-good.
Chad "The Monster" Mendez needs another shot at Aldo...
Now, come on Urijah.
Might be a while before he gets another title fight.
These Brazilians are some badasses...

Concur. Fought with a shattered hand, or hands, one time, too.
Searched first but didnt see this older video posted anywhere. Figured it fit here and definitely worth the watch.

Chris Weidman.
UFC 162?
Weidman over Silva in the first.
GSP says Silva wants Weidman because he's coming off an injury...:D
First, I love watching Diaz fight. I think he's a really tough kid and love the volume of punches he gets off. He's a punk but he's a really tough punk and he's one of my favorite fighters to watch.
I think he's going to be in trouble against GSP. GSP is going to take him down and lay on him and ground and pound him some. I know Diaz is good at BJJ but I still think GSP will be to tough on the ground and GSP wins in a decision.

I'm kind of surprised GSP got into the verbal exchanges with Diaz. I'm hoping it lives up to the hype.

Sonnenistic trash talk is good for business. That's why Dana loves Chael.
Weidman again at the rematch? :munchin
Silva may be history...
I think if Silva takes the fight a bit more seriously he'll win easily. Letting his guard down to taunt his opponent finally caught up to Silva. I still think he's the best 185lb guy out there. I also wanna see the Rousey fight. I like her arm bar finishes.

If he does a rubber fight with Weidman, I'm sure he'll take it seriously.
Very nice win for Tim last night. He has earned a ticket to the very big time in MMA. :lifter

I was concerned Tim was starting too slow, although I realize it was a 5 round fight, because Natal tagged him with a few solid punches. Tims looping left came out of nowhere and turned the lights out. His reaction at the end was not chest thumping or self promotion. It was pure humility and respect for his opponent and fellow soldiers...total class act. Terrific role model. :lifter

He started that way due to a torn quad muscle he sustained in the last week of training camp.
Any hopes or predictions on this one fellas?
Cool artwork by one of Tim's fans...
His humility after the fight, both towards his opponent and towards the military men in the audience, brought tears to my eyes. I'll admit it. So rarely seen with athletes anymore.

"Tim Kennedy is no stranger to Fort Bragg.
The professional mixed martial arts fighter served for several years as a Green Beret with the 7th Special Forces Group, then based at Fort Bragg.
So when he set foot in the 82nd Airborne Division's Combatives and Advanced Tactics School on Thursday, he was greeted by more than a few familiar faces....."

Great seeing him and listening to what he had to say. The mans humility is unranked IMO. I think he did more than what was contracted or expected from the trip.
