This has already hit home. If one in the same events, a co-worker of mine was involved and has sustained serious injuries to his leg, hand, and head. He's being evac'd to Germany following stabilization surgery. I'm not 100% sure who he was serving with but I know he was going through the Q-course to be assigned to 19th SFG(A). I don't know if he has finished that or was with his other Reserve Unit.
Thoughts and prayers out to those lost and those who survived.
I'll update this if when I get new info.
Thoughts and prayers out to all involved and their families as we approach this holiday weekend.

Update: He was assigned to his Reserve CA unit (?) which I'm understanding was a hybrid SOF capabilities/combined unit. No further details available at this time.
Rest In Peace Warriors. :(
Godspeed and full recoveries to those injured. :lifter

Update: Those killed were a Captain and two Sergeants First Class from the Ohio NG (1st BN, 148th Infantry, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.) I have their names but due to channels and Internet decorum - withheld.
My co-worker is in high spirits despite his wounds and is looking forward to being reunited with his wife and children soon.
Broken femur, trashed knee, lost three fingers, concussion, and hearing loss in the blast. America has lost a true warrior in the fight against terrorism and I hope the department will find him work where he can continue to be of service to the nation.
Prayers out to the families of those lost.
My condolences to the guys and their families. Hope your friend gets well soon.

God Bless,Rest in Peace Warriors.....:(
They were just simple soldiers and their ranks are growing thin
But their presence should remind us; we may need their like again,
For when countries are in conflict, then we find the soldier's part
Is to clean up all the troubles that the politicians start.
If we cannot do them honor while their here to hear the praise,
Then at least let's give them homage at the ending of their days.......:(
Perhaps just a simple headline in the paper that might say:
OUR COUNTRY IS IN MOURNING, FOR A SOLDIER DIED TODAY. (author unknown)
The passing of our soldiers often go unnoticed and unsung by most of the world, remembered only by family and friends. Wish it were not so. May they RIP, their familys will be in my thoughts and prayers.........:(
I realize it's a Canadian song, however I believe most appropriate for this occasion..:(

I know I've said this several times before, but we've got to get out of there........:( Every day means another possibility we may lose another young tiger to a cause which don't mean anything to A-stan anymore........ :( My sorrow is to those lives of the boys who gave their last full measure of devotion.........:( Don't let anyone tell you that we don't make men like these anymore,God bless them, each and every one of thm............:(
