OK, you have been taken prisoner and are going to be executed. You get one last meal. Anything you want. What is it?

And no, you may not order weapons or tools. LOL

Just last night I read a history of prisoner's last meals and some examples were noted. The general trend was on ordinarly delights and not the spectacular.

Some say the last meal tradition goes back to Jesus's last meal. Others state it goes back further. One theory is that the condemned souls were about to go on a long journey and needed a meal to sustain them on the trip.

To answer the question posed, I would say a steak and baked potato, followed by a good dip of copenhagen.

If my wife could prepare my last meal, it would be as follows: Korean style BBQ ribs (Kalbi) with rice, Kimchi (radish, cucumber, and cabbage), and all the fixin's (hot pepper sauce, lettuce wraps, garlic and green peppers). And since I'm dying, I'd wash it all down with a couple bottles of soju and a case of Corona. For desert, I'd have a Hershey Sundae pie.

As a woman, I guess the appropriate feminist response is supposed to be to get up on a stump and declare my disgust at such a statement.

But, 'ya kno what ? I can't stop laughing ! Out loud, no one is home and I just keep cracking up while sitting here at the computer ! All of you QP's and associates do this to me all the time !
You ALL have come up with some CLASSIC lines and we're not even in the comedy thread!!

Anyway, back to the last meal topic :

Atmosphere and surroundings would be important for a last meal. White linen table cloth and napkins and fresh flowers (preferably roses) on the table. Candlelight. Fine china, crystal and silver with soft music playing. (This IS my LAST meal, right ? Ok, so it's the whole nine yards. )

A cocktail before dinner. (Still trying to decide).

A nice lobster bisque as an appetizer.

Main course: similar to Gypsy in that I would say Surf and Turf, but it would be lots of surf and just a little bit of turf. Definitely the surf would be lobster. Fresh vegetable as the side dish.

White wine, medium dry. Product of the USA. I'd ask RL or one of the others here for a suggestion.

Chocolate turtle cheese cake (with crushed chocolate wafers as the crust.)

Godiva cappucino liqueur.

Don't smoke cigars.

is it even humanly possible to eat a dozen hard boiled eggs?

I would prefer them deviled. I might be able to shovel a dozen of those puppies down.

burritos sound freakin' good right now. I have been on a soup diet, as I am a fat-ass. Soup and Cope.

I might need to mix up some chili, get some good cheese, fresh sour cream, dice some fresh tomatos and onion, and puree up some guacamole.

good idea.

First, a small green salad with shredded cheddar cheese, ranch style dressing, and two small captain's crackers, with butter. Iced tea (unsweetened) to drink. A small amount of freshly ground pepper would be good.

Next, chicken fried steak with cream gravy. The cream gravy should have some coarse ground pepper. French fries, of course. A good grade of ketchup would be necessary.

Dessert...peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Coffee served with dessert.

To end the meal, a 10 gram square of 70% dark chocolate.

Sinful, perhaps. But good! :)

They've since gone upscale since those days. They had a fire that destroyed the farm and the insurance enabled them to move to the current location. They still grow most everything they serve (or have local growers provide what they don't). Don't remember the llamas though.

I'd go with this:

Bloody Caesar (for those that are unfamiliar, it's a Bloody Mary, but with Clamatto & spices instead of tomato juice. Vastly better than Mary.)

Lump crab cakes, pan fried, with a roasted red pepper sauce.

Traditional Caesar salad.

Aged Filet mignon, medium rare, with crumbled blue cheese.

Creamed spinach.

Baked tater with the works.

Slice of strawberry/mango pie with a lump of vanilla ice cream on top.

Start of with some home made wheat buns with 'real' butter while I wait; with a Church Road Sav. To wash it down.

Then move onto a Tortilla Soup, I had it once in Vegas....very nice

Move onto Vena Schnitzel, just like mother makes, creamy creamy chunky mashed spuds and steamed mixed veggies on the side. Maybe a large glass of fresh OJ?

Then...just cos I can't help myself...A plate full of Sheppard’s Pie....A secret family recipe don’t you know; with a side of garden salad and a light vinaigrette. Washed down with a Steinlarger Beer (has-to-be).

For desert....Nothing other then Pavalova...if you've ever had it home made you'll know what I mean. (My mother made it for my weeding here in CA and one of my Army buddies that came had 5 helpings). (In the late 70’s we had one of the most visited homes at Benning cos of my mother and that desert).

Then I'd fight my way out with the butter knife. :D

Funny story, one night we had some important officers over, semi uninvited of course, and mum thought it a good idea to make apple pie instead of the Pav, there was a roar of complaint with comments about how “we can get Apple Pie anytime”. Of course a mandatory re-invite was required with a promise of the Pav.
