An obscure federal agency may have set a new benchmark for lavish conferences on the taxpayers' dime.

Wow...that's frickin incredible...and to top it all off, I bet none of them have any remorse.....
I am gonna go out on limb here and guess that no one is going to be shocked by this story. According to his aides the POTUS was outraged by this misuse of the taxpayers money. My understanding is that the woman who stepped down was an Obama appointee, as much as I would like to be able to gloat over the fact that this was a scandal perpetrated on us by one of O's choices I can't. This kind of abuse has no boundaries both sides are equally adept at ripping us off. A hundred thousand here a hundred thousand there and pretty soon you are talikng about some real money.

If I stole $820,000 from my employer or misappropriated those same funds I would face criminal charges and have to pay it back. Losing my job would not quite cover it.
Please educate me - how does the former GSA Chief, Martha Johnson, get to suspend a few career employees and resign and simply walk away?
Planners spent $31,000 on a "networking reception" that featured $19-per-person "American artisanal cheese display" and a $7,000 in sushi. Taxpayers also footed the bill for a $3,200 session with a mind reader, $5,600 for in-room parties, $3,700 for T-shirts and almost $2,800 in water bottles.
A separate cocktail reception included $1,500 for "Boursin scalloped potato with Barolo wine-braised short ribs" and a $525 bartender fee for a cash bar. A senior official spent $2,700 to entertain other employees after the closing dinner. And three officials spent almost $400 for rented tuxedos.
As much as I loathe this website, the above was quoted from:

How does a federal agency that assisted in the "MURDER" of a border patrol agent get a free pass? No one is going to jail there either.....

This is an example of when I hate admitting that both of you are right while also agreeing with you. From the cover up's of Eric Holder and his staff to the so-called transfers of those in charge of the high-level planning of Fast/Furious, it's such a shame to see no one serve jail time.
Tar and feathers, anyone?

Another example of how giving people money to spend they did not EARN creates apathy....

Not only did they waste thousands of dollars, they made a music video and mocked other agencies as well as the taxpayers.
"I buy everything your field office can't afford," raps the employee in the video. "I'll never be under OIG investigation."
