50 million on a five year contract?

Talk about winning life's lottery - and then losing the ticket.

I stopped paying attention to that gasbag when he worked for ESPN.

He excels at burning bridges -- as he stands on them.

MOO, millionaires in the public eye need to have with them at all times at least two bodyguards -- one to protect the principal's physical self, the other to safeguard the person from him/her own asshattery.

Olbermann means "vaginal flush" in Deutsche.

I try to watch the liberal commentators and read liberal newspapers just to see what they are trying to pass off as the truth. I turned Olbermann on and within 15 seconds, I was looking for a knitting needle to heat up and stick in my eye...

Lord help us all if this is an early April Fool's Day prank...

I've told this before, but a teaching colleague of mine used to show clips of Olbermann's MSNBC show to her government classes. When I asked what she showed them to provide balance, she said - with a straight face - Chris Matthews!

I shit you not.

You know it is bad when even Al Gore can't stand his mouth. Does anyone actually watch Current TV?

I do. I read the WaPo, too.

I draw the line at NPR, though. I just wait for the Cliff notes to be posted here.

Olbermann was on Letterman tonight.

The interview was a conversation between a past his prime bloated asshat who is not nearly as clever as he thinks ...and Keith Olbermann.

I could watch Keith Olbermann without a dangerous increase in BP if I pretended he was Will Ferrel acting as a talking dickhead.

The unfortunate thing is that Olbermann actually possesses talent as a sports broadcaster. He often has witty insights into baseball and, from everything I've read, is a respected historian of the sport. He should stick with that and stop mindlessly ranting on and on about corporate ripoffs and how much he despises both conservatives and conservatism.

The latter pays better, and I disagree with your opinion on the former. Never confuse smugness with intelligence, or rudeness with wit.

I would absolutely agree, sir. Unfortunately in the discourse of American journalism, it seems as though the more arrogant and biased a media figure is, the more attention they are given. I just wouldn't mind having Olbermann in the broadcast booth with Joe Buck or Thom Brennaman during a baseball game, provided that he doesn't inject politics into it of course. The same would apply for any conservative figure as well.

The only way I'd like that is if Buck or Brennaman cold-cocked the guy before the 2nd inning. Now, that would be worth watching... or listening to!:D

(The ONLY thing I like about Olbermann is that at least his leg didn't "quiver" when candidate Obama spoke during the 2008 campaign.)

That would be something else, especially after all of Olbermann's mindless and sometimes incoherent rants over the years. Though unfortunately, I probably wouldn't even make it to the 2nd inning to witness that event. Baseball on television is often dull in my opinion, whereas a day at the ballpark or listening to it on the radio is a wonderful and relaxing experience. Go Reds! :lifter
