In the midst of recruiting an all-star ensemble for his long-gestating passion project "The Butler," director Lee Daniels has tapped (She Whose Name is not to be Spoken) to play Nancy Reagan.
Based on a Washington Post report by Wil Haygood, pic follows Eugene Allen, the White House butler whose career started with Harry Truman in 1952 and ended in 1986 with Ronald Reagan.
Forest Whitaker is closing a deal to play Allen, while Oprah (nee' Orpah) Winfrey remains in talks to play his wife. David Oyelowo is in negotiations to play Allen's son, while Liam Neeson and John Cusack are circling presidential supporting roles as Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon, respectively. (Unspoken) will appear in a handful of scenes as the first lady of the United States.
Daniels, who is directing from a script he co-wrote with Danny Strong, is in the process of finalizing financing for the pic, which has no distributor onboard yet. Pamela Williams will produce through Laura Ziskin Prods. along with Hilary Shor.
Though no cast deals are in place yet, producers are eyeing a summer start date.
(Unspoken), who was last seen opposite Lindsay Lohan in Garry Marshall's "Georgia Rule," next stars in Bruce Beresford's "Peace, Love and Misunderstanding," which IFC Films opens in limited release on June 8.
IFC's biography of John Wayne, entitled The Duke and featuring Geraldo Rivera as the title character, is due to go into production in August of next year. :D

Teddy, the pink part is something I made up. Geraldo's not really playing John Wayne, as far as I know.

My sentiments, exactly!
I don't usually say these kinds of things about ANYone, but: "May she die a horrible death today and rot in hell forever!"
I may make that my Irish blessing, said upon entering a place (like - God bless all here.).

Why give it an easy out in death? Much better to wish for something more like:
May she contract horribly painful hemorrhoids, oozing puss-filled boils, insomnia and be cursed to remain awake and aware of the pain for the remainder of her days.
There are some things that are simply wrong on multiple levels. This is one of them.

About early 70, it was warm at Bragg in April. I received a call as did my boss. We knew Jane and her crowd were around Fayetteville.
Had a couple of men not stopped it, the arms room was open and issuing weapons and ammo to the group HHC types. We had a CPT who had been drinking and was up all night. He was the HHC CO. He was pretty well lit.

Was that '70 or '71? She and Donald Sutherland tried to march onto the post but were denied access in early '71 - then they held a big rally in the hippie-dippy hangout (can't remember the name of the place) on the corner of Winslow and Hay Street that evening.
Mark46th and I were in SFTG Ph2 when that took place.

Hence why the liberals in Hollywood have chosen her to portray Nancy. What a joke.

As I recall, it was early '71... and I was finishing up Weapons training, which would have made it the first part of January. Ft Bragg (Fayetteville) was the first stop of their "traveling commie roadshow" called FTA... or "Free The Army" (or so they said). It still pisses me off, especially the "troops" who bought into that load of crap - and there were bunches of legs, 18th Airborne Corpses, and 82nd Almost Airborne troops who did.
