The tabloids serve a purpose beyond the whack-job stories of fiction. Say if you need to cover something up, just throw it on the front page of a supermarket tabloid and it's fully discredited. The NYT is a joke, they covered up the famine (genocide) going on in the Ukraine in the 1930's, protecting their Uncle Joe..
