Not familiar with this site, but interesting read.
DHS has grown to approximately 180,000 personnel+ so that would be about 2500 per person. Not a bad train up.
That is a lot of ammo to consume in 5 years.
Of the 180K DHS HC how many are shooters?? 10K 20K 50K???
450.000.000 / 50,000 = 9k per??? :munchin

The Department of Homeland security has just executed an order for enough rounds of 40 caliber ammunition to kill every man, woman and child in the United States.

I smell a lot of pork-barrel spending...

Interesting, maybe concerning, but not necessarrilly time to hang lanterns in the church steeple, especially WRT a 5 year contract. IDIQ contracts are written with a ceiling. They can buy up to the cap; that doesn't mean they're going to. What it does mean is there might be some surplus capacity that could flood the market and drive prices down for the rest of us.

The lanterns have been hung; there's no way to vote ourselves out of this political/social climate.
Instead of hoping for a financial trickle down from the state, let's remember the democratically unanimous support for the event detailed below.

Could be the Feds are trying to be ahead of the curve on a lead ban
In a campaign lead by the Center for Biological Diversity, 100 environmental organizations have petitioned the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to place a regulation on lead ammunition that would classify it as a toxic substance.
