Anybody notice their PO Box Fees go up this year?

I have a small, letter size box in a USPS sub station and it's been $96 per year for a number of years.

Opened the box the other day and my renewal bill was in there. $120 for the next year.

Understandable. The USPS is going broke, just like everybody else. They're gonna start making stamps out of algae to shave costs and turn everything around.

Yup; up to $84 now I believe. And a larger PO 40 miles away that feeds many around here is closing. So the traditional 3-days inbound (+1 because it's coming to my burg) will now be +TBD.

The local Fedex folks' idea of meeting their objectives is to leave a note since they like to visit when most of America is working; so they leave the little slip that says they tried (and give themselves a medal for just being there).

UPS around here is awesome. They nail all their biz customers during the day, tailgate with another feeder truck in the Ace hardware parking lot, and another guy goes around town hitting all "the folks" until he/she is DONE, no matter how dark. If they were to open up a regular box/PO type affair in town here it would put the finishing nail in my breaking the nexus to a failed business model.

I got a notice the other day but I haven't yet looked at it. Last couple years it has been $96 for 12 months.

UPS usually delivers to my house between noon and 1 pm. They put the package(s) on the porch, ring the bell and are on there merry way. Only if it's a "signature required" package do they wait until I open the door and if I'm not here they leave a delivery attempt notice and redeliver the following day. They have been doing that for the 24 years we have lived here.

UPS Stores offer Mailbox Service, and will accept deliveries from most carriers.

Pete, this is the case for everything. My rent has gone from $750 to $950 in just over two years. A weeks of groceries has doubled in the last two years. It's nothing but a giant money grab.

But there is no inflation.

Just ask the POTUS and his cronies.

IMO, it is only a matter of time until the USPS will be forced to consolidate the local offices here. I use a box for my company bill to address and decided to move it to a UPS store. It is more expensive but I didn't want to be looking for a chair when the music stopped.

Also, unlike a P.O. box, you can receive air freight parcels at the UPS store.
