Libyan women battle for empowerment

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-16160671

".................."We're mostly moderate Muslims, not extremists. But I'm worried that some people will try to make strict Sharia law a basis for the constitution," says Nisreen Adham, one of the activists.

Concerns deepened after the head of the National Transitional Council (NTC), Mustafa Abdul Jalil, announced in October that restrictions on polygamy would be removed - and the legal system based on Sharia.

"If we've got a committee full of Mustafa Abdul Jalils, then we may as well pack up and leave," says Ms Soussi. ..................."

We'll see how the constitution reads - and how it's enforced.

That may be the way into "softening" muslim extremism....go through the women. They don't want to be treated the way of sharia...

Hmm...can we send our "N.O.W" group tdy over there???

Ya piss off all the women, and ya get "cut off"...things may change...

Oh, wait...they always have their goats...or boys...nevermind....

Maybe someone should buy a one-way ticket to Libya for Ms. Allred, after all, NATO bombed them into democracy, she might have some luck with the courts there.
