Appointed to the position in 2009?

So she would have been there at least two years now.

Isn't that about move on or retire time?

Working on her Masters of Divinity so she's probably not sleeping with recruits
Well . . .
that seems to be the usual reason things go south with Drills.

With a nickname and reputation of being "No Slack" and the DSS Commandant, there are a number of things she could be being investigated for - I'll await the report.

Well, for one thing, IIRC, she managed to get from 2001 to 2009 without deploying to OIF or OEF.

Couldn't believe that after eight years of war, they would select a non-combat vet to run training of our young warriors, so I guess this shouldn't surprise me either.

I wonder if CSM King listened to one part of a Wanda Sykes routine while neglecting another.

(FWIW, CSM King was the subject of a previous discussion, located here (http://professionalsoldiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25162).)

This is what stands out to me as well. I can see missing it for up to four years or so depending on where you are and when...but to miss both major theaters over an eight year period...that reeks of trying to avoid a deployment.

From that thread:

meh

Definition of meh:

(mē')

1. (n.) A multi-purpose response, primarily used to imply a degree of indifference. Tone of voice and circumstance often implies a meaning. Can be used when you don't want to answer an awkward or embarrassing question, or if you just plain have nothing else to say, and you want the other person to interpret the "meh" however he/she chooses. As in: Q: "What do you think of my new dress?" A: "Meh." or Q: "What do you want to do tonight?" A: "Meh."

Stay safe.

And maybe getting special treatment.
How can you call yourself a professional soldier during major conflicts and not clamor to get deployed at least once?

"King rose to become the first female sergeant named to oversee the heart and soul of Army fighters: the headquarters company of the 18th Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, where she was responsible for 500 paratroopers, 22 sergeant majors, 22 colonels and three general officers."

...and somehow, still never saw the other side of the pond during a combat deployment?

I am incredibly underwhelmed...

Sounds like politics to me...both keeping her out of overseas operations and removing her from her current post.

1985-1987: Bn PAC NCO, 5/3rd BCT Bde @ Fort Dix
1987-1988: Admn Asst, CSA (GEN Vuono) @ five-sided concrete squirrel cage
1988-1991: Admn Asst, Director Def Scty Assistance Agency (DSSA) @ five-sided concrete squirrel cage
1991-1993: Sr Enlisted Advisor, LTG Allen, DSSA @ five-sided concrete squirrel cage

One tough letter sorter of a soldier - bet she'll go to work for the USPS in a management position vice driving a taxi around the Fort Jackson area once she retires.

And so it goes...

Well... the last comment in the 'This Aint Hell' blog entry is just hear-say, so charges of drinking and screwing a subordinate are of little interest to me as they stem from a third party informant on an internet blog. However, of much more serious issue is the problem with her nickname; if she had the nickname "no-slack" because SHE put it on the vanity plates of her car...
...that is just plain unsatisfactory.

EVERYONE knows it is against the rules to proclaim your own nickname. That alone should be grounds for 'conduct unbecoming' charges.

Female command leader of drill sergeant training fight her removal

http://fayobserver.com/articles/2012/05/01/1174782?sac=fo.military

"COLUMBIA, S.C. - The first woman to command the Army's drill sergeant training took legal action Monday to reclaim her job, alleging she was improperly suspended last year because of sexism and racism and demanding that two of her superiors be investigated for abuse of their authority................"

Sexism & Racism? That's a twofer.

Although, based on her record that has been advertised in the press, those cards have worked quite well for her in the past. She probably treats them like 'pocket-aces'

Another woman, out to make the rest of us look bad. I know you guys get tired of this crap, but I think women like me are even more tired of it.

It is hard enough already to be a woman in uniform, then shit like this happens that paint all of us with the same brush.

How about those jackass women on the subs that are now being charged with fraud.

Should move her on so she can find an SSI for her right shoulder.

But if she was right - reinstated - in her case that means two folks were wrong - or does it.

Just what is needed over there, one more underemployed E9 looking to make life miserable for the troops. All the while trying to justify their "job" . There were plenty of those types around when I deployed to OEF in 2004.

In Bosnia, we weren't allowed in the chow tent if we had muddy boots. Sadly this was one of our own (the Troll) who enforced that rule. SGM, you do realize that we are camped in a muddy field with mud up to our knees??
And all the pallets are around the command tent, so you don't have to walk in the mud...

The Army's first female commandant of its elite drill sergeant school is being forced to give up her history-making job, but she says she's not giving up a fight for her reputation.
