I am looking for an SME on VA educational benefits for active duty soldiers. Particularly, if someone can breakdown the T30 vs T33 differences and knows how to master the Tuition Assistance Top Up (TATU) program, I would love to hear from you.

Before this turns into a gripe fest about the dysfunctional VA, I am not looking for advice based on "what you heard" or "what you think," but rather someone who can say "I KNOW because either I DID or its what I DO." Right now I have a variety of opinions from various Ed Center folks and talking to the VA is like rolling the dice on what they might tell me on any given day.

Thanks!

Always best to go straight to a VA rep for the answer on benefits... I sent you a VA POC that I know and trust and have worked with before in the DC area that will be able to help you out.

My advice, if it is not to far away, is to drive to the VA regional office, walk in and see the education folks. The have counselors. You might call ahead and make an appointment. It is always best to speak in person.

ebenefits.gov worked for me. I just received my Post 9/11/Montgomery GI Bill benefits statement a few days ago to apply to AMU, 90% tuition paid.

This is not a fast, next day process. The wait was about a month for turnaround.

Good luck! I'm sure you've had mucho advice on the subject.

I am currently a Student Finance advisor at a major University. I also happen to be a School Certifying Official (VA lingo) for approved to work with and certify VA funds. Is there a particular question you have about CH30 vs. CH33?
