After reading about the Surefire mags,, I stumbled on this link suggesting Colt likes the MWG 90 mag.

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2008/11/28/has-colt-chosen-the-mwg-90-round-magazine-for-the-iar/

I like the ergonomics of wrapping the mag out and around the frame. Keeps the total height of the weapon to a minimum.

But at the same time it has unbalanced the weight distribution off to the left side.

Anyone have any 1st hand experience with these??

PS: I still like the old 20rd for compactness,, but I'm a FOG... :munchin

My unit tested these back in the early 90's iirc. Lots of feeding issues and we elected not to buy any. We also tested C-Mags and ended up buying several of them as they seemed to be more reliable.

Granted that was a long time ago, and I would expect that that the problems have been addressed since then.

LOL, reminds me of local/federal police loaded up with "double" 30 5.56 mags and they are going after "one" bad guy.........:D

There's a story on here of the Las Vegas police "firefight" where dozens of police took over 600 shots (they quit counting at 600) at one bad-guy.

Personally I think LEO's should be issued 1000 rd mags. ;)

Those mags are trash and not worth the money. I am waiting to receive one of the new Armatac 150 round magazines to conduct a T&E at the request of someone. I'll post some info once I have it in hand.
