My question is: Why? Any call the State Dept. made should have went like this: "Because of your families inability to properly raise your traitorous son as a citizen of this country, you need to apologize to the families of the servicemembers lost because of your son's actions. Due to your incompetence as parents, you need to apologize to the families of the Afghan people who died because of your son's propoganda. You also need to apologize to the American people for allowing your son to carry on the subversive activities he conducted before we had to waste taxpayer money to put him down like a rabid dog."

An apology is an admission of wrong doing. I can hear the lawyers lining up now....... The is truely outrageous. They should just strip his family of their citizenship and possessions and ship them home.

And I suppose they can't read

King says Khan "came on their radar" between 2007 and 2009, when he was seen meeting with two terror suspects on Long Island.

The congressman(Idiot) said those two suspects are still being watched.

The family was upset Khan wasn't "not afforded due process."
Can one declare jihad and still expect due process?

I seem to recall:

"Out here, due process is a bullet!":D

Next thing you know they will be apologizing to Adolf Hitler's family because U.S. and Allied Forces having entered Germany caused him to freak out and commit suicide.

When will this BS end???

Oh yeah! Hopefully at the end of the next election.

January 21st, 2013 cannot come soon enough.

Gentlemen, what's happening to your government? That apology nonsense is just insane.
Following that stream of thought, shouldn't state dept start calling jeffrey dahmer's familiy? Or Charles Manson's? I mean, weren't they US citizen's too? What about Al capone? Ok, he had Italian origins, but he still was American. You know what? For al capone a call to Mr. Berlusconi (unfortunately our prime minister) might be in order.
Has politically correct corrupted your state officials to that point?
Seriously, I cannot believe it.
Sorry for this rant, sometimes I have a hard time being politically correct... ( :D )

Meh...sometimes we do things like that...because...like apologizing to China for an 'errant' missile striking their embassy in Belgrade. "Ooopppsss!"

And so it goes...

Mistakes do happen Sir. Who's to say missiles always hit their intended targets instead of going bonkers and striking random stuff? :D
But I still think that apology was crazy.

Yep - it's like watching a National Geographic special on the plains of Africa - gazelles don't hang out with hyenas, hyenas hang out with hyenas and it's tough to be hanging out with hyenas and convince anybody you're really a gazelle. ;)

This has got to be a bad joke. Of course, knowing how the DoS is I am not surprised. I wonder who we will offer apologies and condolences to next?

IMO, unless the purpose of the call was to discuss the United Federation of Planet's failure to check up on the status of the Botany Bay's crew on Ceti Alpha V, there's no way a diplomat should have apologized to the Khan family.

Dear Sir and/or Madam:

Your terrorist son was a dumbass and is now dead.

If you have additional offspring, you may want to more closely monitor the company they keep.

Have a very nice day.

Cheerfully-

Amends for Hiroshima: Obama To Bomb Two U.S. Cities

Red Square
10/13/2011, 10:37 pm

In a belated expression of remorse for the nuclear strikes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki sixty six years ago, President Obama has authorized the Army to launch apologetic nuclear strikes on two American cities. The selection of cities is not final, but they will most likely be Dallas and Houston in a nod to the Democratic desire to attack cities in a "red" state prior to national elections.

After Tokyo had denied Obama's bid to go to Hiroshima to publicly apologize for America’s dropping the bomb there, Obama reportedly sought advice from his staff about an alternative way to turn America's victory in WWII into a matter of national humiliation.

"The point was not to make the Japanese feel better - who cares what they feel? - but to make Americans feel worse," said Press Secretary Jay Carney at a briefing this morning.

"President Obama's mission to fundamentally transform America will not succeed as long as there remain noncompliant citizens who believe in America's goodness and exceptionalism. If all progressive efforts in education, media, and entertainment fail to change minds, it becomes the difficult duty of the president, to establish the image of this country as an imperialist aggressor with suspect motives, guilty of racist and colonialist crimes against humanity, driven by bloodlust and corporate greed, dominating and destroying its innocent victims," Carney said.

In a cable recently disclosed by Wikileaks, Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Mitoji Yabunaka nixed the idea of presidential apology using words that can be loosely translated into English as "if you want to screw with Americans' minds that's your business - just don't screw with ours; we didn't elect you."

The idea to bomb American cities in retaliation for the White Man's Bomb first visited Barack Obama during a sermon given in his church by Reverend Jeremiah Wright: "We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye... and now we are indignant, because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought back into our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost."

The audacious plan matured in conversations with a colleague and famed educator William Ayers, who developed it further by proposing a list of targets and offering scientific expertise in calculating the fallout. Further brainstorming with members of Obama's cabinet - Valerie Jarrett, Cass Sunstein, Anita Dunn, Van Jones, Kevin Jennings, and especially John Holdren - a long-time proponent of population control - has resulted in the recent White House announcement.

The U.S. media's reaction to proposed apologetic bombing was mostly positive, portraying the president as an "unconventional, out-of-the-box thinker." The trend was best summed up by MSNBC anchor Chris Mathews: "What better way is there to preempt America's racism and geopolitical bullying than to incinerate its own cities?"

Former President and legendary humanitarian Jimmy Carter also endorsed the bombing: "My good friend Michael Moore once said about 9/11: 'If someone did this to get back at Bush, then they did so by killing thousands of people who DID NOT VOTE for him!' So, it only seems natural to make amends for Hiroshima and to equalize the 9/11 impact by launching a strike against Texas."
