Fella's, if you're considering a vacation with the family consider Costa Rica. Yes, there are tourist traps such as Jaco, but this should not deter anyone. We spent a few days up at Arenal, an active volcano with a large lake. My boy outfished me on the guapote(rainbow bass) by sticking with a spinnerbait, while chased the "best" lure.

After a few days playing around the volcano, we hopped a flight to the south, the Osa Penninsula. Fishing, surfing, ziplining and hiking at a world class level.

Our inshore fishing landed us bluefin trevally, horseeyed jacks, mahi, snapper, roosterfish and amberjack and our offshore trip was OFS. We raised 30 sails, hooking and fighting 20 to the boat and two bluemarlin.

My wife and daughter enjoyed their surfing lessons.

The kids too the lodge dog to the beach and never felt unsafe. The zipline and waterfalls made for some fun adventures. If any of you are thinking of disney for a family vacation, trade up for a Costa Rica adventure.

The things my kids learned on this trip can not be bought or taught. Way better than going to see Mickey.

Hey the boy couldn't speak spanish, but he knew how to play poker. He managed a pickup game at the bar.
