View Full Version : best advice
This is for the QP's here. Nothing against the wannabes here like myself (im sure you have some good info) I would just rather here it from the horses mouth. What is the single best advice y'all can for passing selection? Nifty tricks like threading a blister or how to dry gear in december are also really appreciated.

kuz210,
I'm gonna help you out before you get chewed out too bad.
1. There's a book written by Maj Joe Martin, its all Get Selected. You'll find it on amazon.com, proceeds go to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. The author gives you everything you need to be successful at selection, many users on here have used his book with success.
2. If you think you have an original question, remember this - you don't. Use the search button, if you have trouble searching then teach yourself how. I lurked on this forum for almost a year before posting with any regularity.
3. This whole section, read as many threads as possible, any question you have after that use the search button.
4. This advice has been given to me by every SF guy (active & retired) I know. "Don't quit, do your best".
I lurked on this forum for about a year, and I'm SF qualified.

Would you rather we focus on you?
Leave the advice giving for the MODS/ADMINS and QPs...

Read "A Message to Garcia", then explain why it is relevant to your situation.
Search and read here, do not start any new threads for three months.

All the advice you have been given is wrong. Ignore all that, it won't matter.
Wanna know the secret? You can't go around repeating this though,,,,,
1. Do the best you can.
After you do the best you can, you will either be selected or you will not.
If this doesn't make you kick those insecurities then go ahead and follow the advice of the other QP's in here.
Oh, and stop posting looking for a magic answer without doing your own damn research.
Good Luck.
some people just don't get it......
better to ID him here prior to wasting $$ sending him to Selection. Please stay with the Conventional Army where you so badly need to remain.
My only post on this tread was deleted and it should have been.
At no time did I mean to single out any one author, I only responded to the name of an author that was supplied in this thread.
I still stand by my convictions that books don't get anyone through selection.
I am certain that I owe someone some beer and I will be glad to pay up the next time y'all are at Bragg.

It took a while but we figured out what you were trying to say. And you're absolutely right; all the books in the world won't make up for a lack of "character".
