LOL, this struck me as very funny....

There's a new poster child for the "LOSER" of the year.

27 year old male, living with mom, loser.

Practicing martial arts in the "living room" when mom says "no", loser.

Knocking out mom with a martial arts kick to the head and making national news, priceless.

Cory William Morrel, 27 Loser of the year.

Hitting your mother was punishable by death; that's what my father and uncles made crystal clear to every "male" child in the family tree.

And, we had NO desire too find out if, it was true or not.:D

Stay safe.

Hitting your Mom..I got a right cross for refering to Mom as 'her' when I was a mad 14 year old...as it should be

Similar experience here - although I referred to Mom in anger as "she"...never happened again.

"She" is your mother - as I got back up - I understood at once.

When I was little, up to age 9, boxing with my mom was pretty cool.

I seldom jabbed, but she taught me how to protect my ribs and face, her combo was fast. She was the youngest of three girls and right in the middle of 5 brothers. All protected her, even her little brothers, but she knew, still knows how to land a punch.

As kids in the house, all family fights/arguments had to be conducted from a sitting position at the kitchen table, and no throwing things.

Fights with cousins, however, were conducted outside, perferably in the barn away from ear shot of the house.

Grandpa even allowed a few fights between boys to be conducted on the gravel drive way, but you had to take shirt and shoes off first. That tended to keep the fight time minimized to a few knee and elbow scrapes, usually resulting in just a big dust storm of a wrestling match.

Hitting any girl or woman is just wrong, let alone your mother.

I disagree. I had a woman attack me one time with an 'object' - I knocked her out - I would do it again under the circumstances.

I had friends growing up whose mothers needed to be knocked out because of the abuse I saw them heap upon their families, especially when they'd spent a good six hours of more down at the Goober Hut or Cozy Palms - the men in their lives were weak and allowed them to get away with it - they also lost their children as soon as my friends were old enough to leave home - they never went back.

I never considered striking my Mom - one of my brothers pushed her one time and Dad took care of him when he got home from work and found out about it - my father boxed in HS, JC, and in the Navy during WW2 - he was lanky and tough as an old leather milking strap.

My nephew was giving his parents and sisters fits and threatening them - his father is a pilot and a wimp - my niece called me and I went over and told him to bring it to me if he had a beef, leave his mother and sisters out of it - they threw him out of the house and we took him in - the first time I threw him out within 48 hours for breaking my house rules - a week later my wife talked me into giving him another chance - he and I went for a jog and talked it over - he stayed with us for 6 months while working, following our rules, and he and I worked to get him straightened out and into the service - he rode his bicycle back and forth to work because I wouldn't allow him to use one of my cars or take him to work (it was his problem, not mine) - he's a PJ now and his parents ask me how he's doing because we keep in touch regularly. I wouldn't be any prouder of him if he was one of my sons.

The kid in this news report is a punk who needs his @$$ kicked so he knows how much of a punk he is.

And so it goes...

When I was brought up my Dad made it very clear to me that hitting a girl(woman) was the lowest form of life a man can be..........He said no matter how angry they can make you, never lose it........... I've been tested plenty in my 74 years, but I'm proud to say I never have............:D

The [woman], got it.

The nephew, we call it "NBK" - (No Blood Kin).

Several uncles I have, I consider them fathers as well. Our tribe, extended family, cousins were like brothers, (the girls), all sisters.

Mark, my older cousin, had a standing order, "Keep Wet Dog out of fights, but if he's in one, you better be also".

I agree and believe that it's not chivalrous to physically abuse women, but they can be just as mean as men. The butt kickings I received (and deserved) from my father were thorough but the ones I received from my mother were more vicious and usually included more colorful language.

It can be amusing sometimes. I was sitting in my Ford F-150 in the parking lot of a country western bar onetime when an irate girlfriend threw a full bottle of Budweiser at my windshield. There were people watching and they all had a pretty good laugh. The girlfriend and I kissed and made up a few days later.

I concur, being raised in a similar manner. Though to Richard's point, Heinlein had a quote on women I never forgot.

"... they've got more range than we've got. The brave ones are braver, the good ones are better — and the vile ones are viler, for that matter. " -RAH

Maybe they'll put him away for a few weeks, I'm sure he'll be crying "Mama" then :D

Me being the oldest of six, my mother didn't have the luxury of waiting for my father to come home and discipline, she was fast with the belt, and fear her we did. My father usually reinforced "we don't hit women" with a heavy hand when my sister and I fought...

Mixed feelings on this one. The shooting team advisor back in college told me a similar story. Some women like to push the physical envelope and fail to realize that just because some men let them hit without repercussions, not all men do. A girl in the bar smack him in the face with her high heel as he looked away. He took her down and landed a knee, dislocating her jaw and knocking her out. He then went to the police and pressed charges first.

Then again, some men just will not and can not. People laugh when they see/hear about girl beating a guy silly. Not so funny when it's spousal abuse. Some wives are husband-beater. They seem to always end up with guys who don't hit back. A high ranking individual from infantry MOS showed up one night battered and bruised. His wife had been beating him with the skillet. He then took lots of pills...:(

Not sure if I could pull it off. Had this younger senior in music school who would verbally, then physically beat me. She was purdy :o. I got back at her by laughing maniacally in the theatre at a shark attack scene that left her screaming and cowering....then she beat me up again :boohoo Should have puckered up instead, later on I learned that she couldn't stand being ignored. Oh well...

The thought of hitting my mother never cross my mind even when I was upset
