The Group has come a long way since I was there in 1964, There were 4 Companies on Okinawa, in the Machinato area, and those 4 Companies were constantly deployed TDY to Vietnam, & other AOR's Korea, Thiland, Phillipines and Japan Okinawa was not returned to the Japanese untill the Carter Administration. In 1974 1st SFG(Abn) was deactivated along with other groups leaving only 3 active Groups, The 5th, the 7th and the 10 SFG(Abn). It was stood up again in March,1984 witha a Batallion sent to Torii Station Okinawa, now Japan. It is good news that the 4th Batallion is being added to the 1st GP. now located at FT. Lewis- McCord base in Tacoma, WA. BEST WISHES for SUCCESS, Regard's, Tom Kelly " C Company, First in the First".

This is Kool...

Its headquarters compound was dedicated Friday in the memory of Sgt. Maj. Bradly Conner, a Tacoma-born Special Forces soldier who was killed in Ramadi, Iraq, on May 9, 2007 at the age of 41. His family attended Friday's ceremony.
Great Honor towards SGM Conner!! :lifter

Brad was a great guy, severed across the hall with him in B/2/10. Great knowing you Brad!!
