After much research and seeing a few news articles concerning this, I asked The Reaper if I could post this as it may interest some of the members of this forum. I know a good amount of QPs regularly come into contact with Military Working Dogs and thought they might like to help these hard working dogs out when it comes time for them to retire. The following links are to sites that help interested individuals in adopting retired or retiring working dogs. The application is downloadable and states all of the requirements for adoption. Both sites provide adoption directly from the 341st Training Squadron at Lackland AFB. This is the DoD's official MWD training school. Hopefully some of these well deserving dogs can retire to the comfort of a good home with people who know what it means to serve. If I posted this in the wrong area please move.

Adopting these dogs, IMO, is a good thing. As long as the vet says they are good to go. Below is the link to the USAF MWD Adoption PM at Lackland AFB in San Antonio. The USAF is the proponent for MWD.

If anyone has any problems adopting a MWD, let me know. I work closely with the USAF MWD people.
